Franziska Kett scored and was sent off as Bayern Munich held on to a 1-1 draw against Barcelona in the first leg of their Women’s Champions League semi-final.
Germany international Kett canceled out Ewa Pajor’s first goal at the Allianz Arena, but pulled Salma Paralluelo’s hair and was told to leave with 10 minutes remaining.
José Barcola also saw red for his response to the decision, but Bayern, who lost 7-1 when the teams met earlier in the competition, were able to hold on for a draw in a tense semi-final first leg.
Barça took the lead in the seventh minute when Esmee Brugts scored for Pajor, who tied Alessia Russo at the top of the scoring charts with her eighth goal in the competition this season.
The visitors came close to doubling their lead early in the second half when Brugts hit the foot of the post, before Patri Guijarro cleared a header over the line on the hour mark.
Bayern continued to threaten and got the goal they deserved in the 69th minute when Pernille Harder broke down the left and set up Kett for a good finish.
The sending off of Kett and Barcola set up a tense finale, during which Mapi León had a huge effort go wide and Paralluelo dodged the chance to score the winning goal in added time.

Data report: Final dream still alive for Bayern
By holding on to the draw, Bayern have gone eight games unbeaten in the competition, their longest streak since at least the 2016-17 season.
Although Barcola’s team only attempted seven shots, their lowest total in the Champions League this season, they still have a great chance of reaching the final for the first time.
