The 2 ‘troublemakers’ – Uranus and Pluto – are for all the transits of May.
May 2026 begins in the tone of Pluto with the Full Moon in Scorpio square Pluto, followed by Pluto retrograde. Hello Pluto!
As we progress through the month, the The atmosphere becomes increasingly Uranian. – beginning with the New Moon in late Taurus (conjunct Uranus), followed by Mercury and the Sun conjunct Uranus.
At the end of the month, we return to plutowho is pushing us toward a long-overdue spring cleaning of old Capricorn-era identities.
And if this all sounds a little excessive (and it definitely might), remember that Uranus, now in Gemini, is moving into a trine to Pluto.
These two aren’t wreaking havoc just for fun: they have a plan. Everything makes a lot of sense up there on Olympus.
It will also make sense to us, a little later.
Meanwhile, May asks us to trust the process. If something is falling apart it’s because it was supposed to. If an opportunity comes, open the door. Let the Universe do its work and trust that chaos has a plan.
But let’s take a look at the most important transits of the month:
May 1, 2026 – Full Moon in Scorpio
On May 1, 2026, we have a Full Moon at 11° Scorpio. This Full Moon is Pluto in a T-square, its ruler, Mars, squares Jupiter, and the icing on the cake, Mercury is conjunct Chiron. That’s a loaded Full Moon chart!
Whatever you have been holding back in your life will now erupt like a volcano, creating a much-needed cleansing of the air.
As with any Full Moon on the Taurus-Scorpio axis, themes of give and take are highlighted. Who is doing what? Who gives more? Who’s been keeping score? This is a time to look at the balance of your exchanges with others.
With Mercury conjunct Chiron, some of these conversations may touch on old wounds, and that’s okay. Sometimes the rash is also the healing.
May 3, 2026: Mercury enters Taurus
On May 3, 2026, Mercury enters Taurus – and we will all feel an exhale. Mercury has had a rough patch: it retrograded through Pisces and then got blasted by all those planets in Aries.
Now he has finally found a safe house in Taurus, where even Uranus left the building, having moved into Gemini.
But enjoy it while it lasts. Mercury is already applying itself to a tense square with a stationary Pluto, pushing for (even more) resolution after the Full Moon.
May 6, 2026: Pluto turns retrograde
On May 6, 2026, Pluto turns retrograde at 5° Aquarius. As usual, when a slow-moving planet like Pluto changes direction, its energy intensifies.
This doesn’t have to be a Plutocalypse, although when Pluto appears, we know we have no choice but to change.
The more we recognize what really needs to be done, the more empowering the process becomes. Pluto only feels destroyed when we hold on to something that was already done.
May 14, 2026: Sun conjunct Mercury in Taurus
May 14, 2026 – The Sun is conjunct Mercury. at 23° Taurusmeaning we are in the middle of the Mercury cycle and experiencing the “Full Mercury” phase of the current cycle.
The first ideas and projects that have been taking root in recent months are beginning to show their first real growth on the ground.
May 16, 2026 – Mars conjunct Chiron
On May 16, 2026, Mars is conjunct Chiron at 28° Aries.. Since 2018, Chiron in Aries has been helping us heal our identity wound, and with Mars, the planet of self-affirmation, joining us, old wounds resurface.
The Mars-Chiron transit can bring us back to situations where we feel powerless, intimidated, or dismissed. Moments when our boundaries were crossed and we didn’t know how to maintain them or felt like we weren’t allowed to.
This is the final conjunction between Mars and Chiron in Aries (at least for the next four decades). Now, looking back, we can recognize that the struggles – The times they stepped on us, they treated us like we didn’t matter.
– and all the stories we’ve been telling ourselves along the way that “there must be something wrong with me” – were never true.
This is where it ends. No more crossing the line. Who we are and what we want matter. And as long as we don’t trample on someone else’s right to the same, we don’t have to accept anything that doesn’t allow us to be ourselves.
That’s what Chiron in Aries has been working toward all these years. Soon, Chiron will move into Taurus. and bring other areas to heal.
May 16, 2026 – New Moon in Taurus
On May 16, 2026, we have a New Moon at 25° Taurus.
The New Moon is conjunct Mercury and Uranus, and sextile Jupiter in Cancer. The ruler of the New Moon, Venus, is the sextile of Mars.
This is one of the most auspicious New Moons out there: strong aspects, supportive flow, and enough Uranus to change the way we see things.
At the New Moon in Taurus, we begin to see opportunities that were always right under our noses, but we somehow didn’t recognize their potential.
Now, with some small adjustments and a rethink, we can do something real with them. Eureka!
May 16, 2026: Mercury enters Gemini, conjunct Uranus
On May 16, Mercury enters Gemini – its home sign – and is conjunct Uranus the next day.
This is our first Mercury-Uranus conjunction in Gemini, and it will not go unnoticed.
Whether it comes from the outside, through a surprising announcement, or from within (as a change in the way you see things), things will start to fall into place in a new way.
May 21, 2026: The Sun enters Gemini, conjunct Uranus
On May 21, 2026, the The sun enters Gemini – Happy birthday to all Geminis!
This is the first Gemini season in almost 80 years with Uranus in the sign. If you have planets or the Ascendant in Gemini, or if you know people who do, the change will be quite obvious.
This Gemini season, expect to feel freer, lighter, and less “locked in,” especially in the area of life ruled by Gemini in your chart.
May 26, 2026: Mars Square Pluto, Sun Trine Pluto
On May 26, 2026, Pluto is square Mars and trine the Sun..
This Pluto one-two punch calls for a deeper kind of spring cleaning. Whatever has been working with the “I can’t do this” becomes visible for what it is – an excuse – as we use it to feed a version of ourselves that no longer needs it.
May 31, 2026 – Full Moon in Sagittarius
On May 31, 2026 we closed the month with a Full Moon at 9° Sagittariustrine with Neptune and Saturn in Aries, square with the Nodes.
Having “survived” Uranus and Pluto, something has changed and now there is room to breathe, look around and wonder.
We may find ourselves in what seems like a completely different place, even if it is the same living room, the same journey, or the same life.
When our perspective changes, we stop reacting from where we have been and begin to recognize what is truly calling us forward.
