In working with clients lately, the timing indicated by secondary progressions has been fascinating and especially insightful. I thought you might also find it interesting to hear what’s been popping up. Here are four snippets of different progressions in action.
Progressive balsamic moon phase and discreet themes
One client wondered why other synchronization techniques were not expressing themselves as strongly or influentially as she expected. Looking at your progressions, it turned out that you are in the progressed Balsamic or Dark Moon phase, which is a time of rest, closure and completion.
The progressive balsamic phase can last up to four years and everyone will experience it at some point in a longer thirty-year cycle. It is usually a quieter, more introspective time, when you may prefer to relax, go inward, or generally move and live at a slower pace.
The Sun progressed into Leo: increased confidence and energy in the future
On the other hand, another client was about to have her progressed Sun leave Cancer and enter Leo, which also happened to be her first house.
This progressive shift of the Sun into Leo, the sign of its ruler, will occur for most people who have the Sun in Gemini or Cancer in their birth chart and, depending on how long they live, also for those with the Sun in Taurus.
As you can imagine, the passage of the progressed Sun into the sign of its domicile brings a great strengthening of the spirit, as well as a boost to confidence and self-belief.
The Sun progressed into Leo is a vibrant influence (which will last thirty years) that can encourage a client to step into the light, lead, or prioritize the goals and experiences most important to them. It is an indication that more visible and impactful opportunities await us.
Progressed planets moving from a water sign to a fire sign
Any progressed planet that leaves a water sign and enters a fire sign will become more active and expressive. When this happens, you may become better at making clear, objective decisions and driving progress.
A progressed planet in a water sign is no better or worse than a progressed planet in a fire sign, but they are different. A progressed planet in a water sign may be calmer, have a thoughtful or thoughtful quality, and emphasize connection and security rather than growth and advancement.
Its ascendant ruler changes sign by progression: Mercury to Aries
It is also significant when the planet ruling your natal ascendant progresses into a more dynamic, bold or vital sign.
For this client, with the progressed Sun entering Leo, there is a direct link between that change and an increase in their sense of self, as well as their understanding of their true potential, as the ruler of their Ascendant progresses into one of their most vital and effective signs.
Something similar is happening to another client, who has a Gemini ascendant. This client is about to have his Ascendant ruling planet also change signs through progression.
For them, Mercury will leave Pisces and enter Aries. Although Mercury doesn’t have any special sign-based dignity in Aries, Mercury has been in one of its detrimental signs while in Pisces, so this change can help reduce confusion and uncertainty.
For Mercury, this progression from Pisces to Aries can be like exiting an intuitive season, albeit more confusing or meandering, and entering a cycle in which expression and thinking become bold, daring, specific and goal-oriented.
Progressed Mercury moving out of Pisces into Aries can bring clarity and enthusiasm for new projects, as well as a boost of energy and drive.
Since Mercury rules your Gemini Ascendant, this change will mark a major breakthrough in your understanding of yourself. In the future, this client may be more able to translate their preferences and desires into life and choose their path forward, rather than always responding or being distracted by what is happening around them.
Progressed Sun in aspect to natal Uranus: freedom, excitement and breaking patterns on the way
When I worked with a chart member for this month’s Check Your Chart video, I was excited to see them about to experience their progressed Sun conjunct natal Uranus, which is a wonderful harbinger of freedom, change, and pattern breaking.
This client was caught in a choice between work and life direction, trying to decide between continuing to work full-time for a few more years or exploring semi-retirement/part-time work options first.
It’s no surprise that, with Uranus in the mix, it makes sense to step away from the demands of full-time work to experiment with different schedules and work opportunities, including self-employment.
These are just a few examples of progressions in action in recent weeks.
