…In the end, the film works because its cast fully surrenders to the madness. Ayushmann Khurrana, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh play their roles effectively within the ensemble setup. But quietly and unexpectedly, Sara Ali Khan emerges as the most memorable element of the film, not through louder scenes or dramatic moments, but through a performance that simply stays with you after the laughter dies down…

…In the end, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a brilliant and calm entertainer that relies heavily on confusion, chaos and relationship drama. It has some really fun stretches, a committed lead performance by Ayushmann Khurrana and some likable supporting characters that keep the film moving at a brisk pace….

…The whole thing is equally fun. From Tigmanshu Dhulia MLA to his goon, Durgesh Kumar. Vijay Raaz playing the ever-confusing and funny cop wala, Ayesha Raza playing a boisterous Bua and Deepika Amin playing the bechara pati’s cunning mother-in-law! Each one of them fulfills their role perfectly….

…Vishal Vashishtha, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Vijay Raaz also deserve a mention. Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is not a perfect film, but it never pretends to be. The creators commit to the madness with enough conviction to make much of it strangely enjoyable. At its core there is a crackling chemistry between its cast, which collectively keeps the film buoyant even when the script falters…

…Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a laugh-filled roller coaster ride fueled by clever writing, situational chaos and entertaining performances. Mudassar Aziz deserves credit for creating dialogues that consistently hit the mark and cleverly incorporate nostalgic film references…

…Music fulfills its purpose without demanding immortality. The songs blend seamlessly into the massive temperament of the narrative, without interrupting it or elevating it dramatically. Visually, the film embraces the color, bustle, and whimsy of a small town. Prayagraj is presented with affectionate theatricality, while the production design supports the film’s outsized comic temperament. Fortunately, even the animal sequences are handled with surprising visual competence…

More information about VFX and more

…Gabbi and Khan (at least they get important roles) provide Khurrana with capable support, while Singh is relegated to the background. At 117 minutes, the comedy is fast-paced, but feels longer due to the ridiculousness on display. The occasionally funny one-liners may work for some, but other than that, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do offers nothing you haven’t seen before…

…Mudassar Aziz instructs the cast to act in a very exaggerated manner and deliver each line at high volume. Only Khurrana, Singh and Raza Mishra are capable of pulling off this hyperbolic style. If the film had been presented correctly and if the performances had been naturalistic, perhaps it would have been a little more effective…
