Salma Yasmeen, chief executive of Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, has been confirmed as the latest speaker for Digital Health Summer Schools 2026.
She will be part of a panel of leaders reflecting on one-year progress on the NHS’s ten-year health plan, sharing insights on what has been achieved so far and what comes next to realize its ambitions.
They will explore the execution of the three changes in the context of the system’s ongoing transformation and restructuring. Attendees will also hear their perspectives on the critical role of digital (and digital leadership) in shaping the future of health and care delivery in England.
The conference, which will take place on July 16 and 17 at the University of Nottingham, has a renewed format that relies on interactive and small group sessions to provide attendees with more practical insights and deeper knowledge exchange.
Key themes explored in this year’s program include: “Power, influence and responsibility: digital leadership in 2026 and beyond”, “From innovation to impact: scaling up what really works”, “Balancing innovation, safety and ethics in the age of AI”, “Building effective relationships between the NHS and providers” and “The ten-year health plan: one year on”.
Professor Kathrin Cresswell, Professor of Digital Innovation in Health and Care at the University of Edinburgh, was one of the first speakers announced for Summer schools 2026.
Also announced at the same time in March were three senior digital leaders who are shaping and delivering large-scale NHS transformation:

- Dr. Penny KechagioglouChief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust and Chair of the Digital Health Networks CCIO Advisory Panel
Marie-Anne Ledingham, Consultant Clinical Adviser at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), and Tharni Vasavan, Senior Horizon Scanning Health Technologies Leader at NICE, were also announced for the event.
