AstraZeneca is obtaining the rights to a drug from Sino Biopharmaceutical that offers a dual mechanism to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD. It’s the same approach as an FDA-approved drug that Merck acquired last year in a multibillion-dollar deal.
