Manchester United can take a giant step towards securing a place in the Champions League for next season with a home win against Brentford on Monday.

united start in third and the victory will leave them 11 points ahead of sixth-placed Brighton, with four games remaining. The top five finishers will play in Europe’s top-tier competition in 2026/27.

Brentford are unlikely to prove easy opponents. Keith Andrews has done a fantastic job in his first season as head coach and the Bees remain in the hunt for Europa League qualification.

“We want to approach this game in a very similar way to how we approach every game,” Andrews said.

“We are very aware of [United’s] Their strengths… They have some magnificent players who we must try to keep quiet.

“It’s an incredible game for us. I said this to the players: we have three brilliant away games: United, City [on May 9] and Liverpool [on May 24] – and two London derbies at home against West Ham [on May 2] and Crystal Palace [date TBC].

“We’ve put ourselves in a good position, but we’re not happy with where we are and we want to keep pushing.”
