If you’re planning a solo trip to Paris, you’ve come to the right place. For the last ten years I have been traveling the world alone as a traveler and for the life of me, I cannot miss visiting Paris. Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while or follow my travels on Instagram already know that my love for the French capital runs deep. But if you’re new here, you’re talking to a self-confessed Francophile who’s been alone in Paris more times than she can count. And today I’m going to share with you the best hotels for solo travelers in Paris with links to my favorite platform (because they have the cheapest room rates). Post updated July 2026.
Les Tournelles
District: The Marais
Let’s start with my top pick, a four-star boutique hotel in Le Marais called Les Tournelles. This hotel is the perfect choice for solo travelers who are on a reasonable budget, but don’t want to skimp so much that they sacrifice stylish accommodations and an enviable location. Enter Les Tournelles, a mid-priced property in my favorite neighborhood to settle into in Paris. Le Marais is full of great cafes, restaurants and a beautiful public park called Place de Vosges. Skip booking the breakfast option because it’s just a three-minute walk from Carette, which has a fabulous Pain au Chocolat and even better hot chocolate to start your day happily.
L’esperance Hotel
District: Latin Quarter
Across the Seine you will find the Hotel de L’esperance in the Latin Quarter. I love this part of the city for the wide variety of food on offer, all of it affordable given that it is the street food district of the city. Ironically, this district is located right next to Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Paris (and, in fact, one of the most beautiful). So settling here will mean you’ll be just a short walk from the posh part of town without the high price tag. I’d say it’s too good an offer to refuse!
Libertel Gare du Nord Ante
District: 10th
If you’re visiting Paris on a budget or just looking for a place to round out an overnight stay, I discovered Libertel Gare du Nord Suede under these same circumstances on my most recent visit to Paris. After blowing my departure date from Paris, I found myself in need of a room for the night, but I didn’t want to be too far from Gare du Nord considering I would be arriving on the Eurostar one day and leaving Charles de Gaulle airport the next day (and taking the train directly from the same Gare du Nord station). This hotel has a cheaper rate for solo travelers and is just a 2-minute walk from the train station. To explore the rest of Paris, simply take the nearby metro and you’ll be well connected everywhere.
Hotel Elysées Opera
District: Opera
For as long as I can remember, I haven’t visited the Opera district, perhaps because it’s a more local part of the city with many big brands and grand boulevards that pale in comparison to the charming little streets of places like Le Marais. But it was a few years ago when I met my friend Chelsea for afternoon tea and when I asked her where she was staying, she told me her hotel was in Opera. It turns out that this is one of the most affordable districts in the city because, although it is central, it is not in the tourist heart. So if you are on a budget and looking for a 3 or 4 star hotel at a reasonable price, check into Hotel Elysees Opera.
Hotel CitizenM Paris
District: 3 locations
If you haven’t heard of CitizenM Hotels yet, you’re missing out! The first time I stayed in one of the hotels in Glasgow, Scotland, I loved using those hotels ever since. They offer great rates for solo travelers and exist as a sort of no-fuss hotel. The check-in process is easy and with a machine. Then, when you get to your room, you’ll notice that there is no space, but all the amenities you need (a small private bathroom, under-bed storage, and a comfortable bed by the window). It’s a great option when you’re on a budget but don’t want to sacrifice comfort.
Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris
District: Saint German
Another great option if you are looking for something basic and affordable is Citadines in Saint Germain. This hotel is basic but comfortable and, even better, it is located in one of the best districts to settle down and explore Paris as a solo traveler. This is because this neighborhood is extremely safe and you can walk to many attractions in just a few minutes. Don’t miss Les Deux Magots, Café de Flore and the Shakespeare and Co. bookstore.
Chouchou Hotel
District: Opera
Conveniently located in the heart of Paris and within walking distance of everything, Chouchou is a great hotel as a base for first-time solo travelers to Paris. This hotel has a real social atmosphere, making it a great choice if you want to meet fellow solo travelers and socialize with others.
The Hoxton Paris
District: 2nd
If you fancy splurging on a beautiful hotel with carefully curated design, look no further than The Hoxton Paris. The good thing is that this hotel is not expensive like a five-star hotel in Paris would be, but it feels surprisingly similar. This is because The Hoxton has refined the art of luxury hotels on an affordable budget and has oversized rooms for solo travelers.
