That Manic Full Moon Plus Sweet Spots for next week: May 10-16

Well, that Full Moon in Scorpio was a little manic, wasn’t it?

I told a friend that I felt as if the elevated energy of the Full Moon began around Wednesday the 29th.th and was not satisfied until after Monday the 4ththonce Mars had passed the peak of its square to Jupiter.

That came into Tuesday’s Mercury/Pluto square, which sort of persists through the end of the week, as the Moon will meet Pluto in Aquarius on Friday, May 8.

And the background to all of this, of course, is that we still have Mars with Saturn in Aries, which adds intensity and urgency.

Mars, Profections, Time Lords and Trends

Mars is not my time lord this year, but he is in my protected place and Mars activations are especially strong for me right now.

Combine that with the fact that Saturn is my time lord, which means that Mars and Saturn still co-present are definitely hitting me with decisions and changes that I didn’t have on my bingo card for this year. Maybe the same thing happens to some of you too?

More Mars or Saturn?

You may be especially sensitive to all the Mars and Saturn issues, exacerbated by that sign-based square to Jupiter in Cancer, if any of the following apply to you:

  • Mars or Saturn is your time lord this year (this means your perfected sign of the year is Aries, Scorpio, Capricorn or Aquarius)
  • Mars or Saturn is in your perfected sign of the year. For example, maybe you are in a formative Gemini year and Mercury is your time lord, BUT you have Mars or Saturn in Gemini.

If so, then you too are in Mars/Saturn training camp.

For an extra burst of astro intensity and extreme experiences, if the second point above applies AND that same planet (either Mars or Saturn) from your sign in your Solar Return chart has aspects of your natal sign, well, that’s more on top of more. It could be more Saturn if Saturn is in your year sign or more Mars if Mars is in your year sign (that’s me).

If these techniques sound interesting but unfamiliar to you, I will teach you all about how to go further with profections in my live course starting May 12. There are limited spots left, so if you want to join us, run, don’t walk here.

This year I’m honoring Mars in new ways: I finally started lifting weights and moving my body more frequently and with greater intensity. I’m doing everything I can to give Mars a way out.

If any of the astro criteria above fit you, let us know in the comments what is rapidly developing and changing in your life.

Next Week’s Astrology Highlights, May 10-17: Relaxing Pause, Relief, and Renewal

When the astro energy heats up like this, I am on the lookout for aspects and periods of sweet relief. I’m happy to report that there are a few of them on the horizon. Which I plan to make the most of before Mercury and the Sun join Uranus in Gemini (May 17 and 20 respectively) and bring even busier and more lively influences.

In the week ahead, here’s some lovely astrology to work with:

  • The Moon in Pisces, from approx. 3:00 pm, May 10 – 7:30 pm, May 12, Eastern Time. Here the Moon is off axis with respect to Mars and Saturn in Aries, in trine aspect with its ruler Jupiter exalted in Cancer and in square with Venus in Gemini, as well as sextile with Mercury and the Sun in Taurus.
  • Sun sextile Jupiter, May 10 or 11 depending on your location. Two of what Ficino calls the three graces that form a harmonious aspect, supported by the Moon. Much welcome, friendship and generosity, since the Moon is in the sign of Jupiter, the Sun is in the sign where the Moon is exalted, Jupiter is in the sign of the Moon.
  • Mercury sextile Jupiter, May 13. This is helpful in directing your mind toward possibilities and finding support for significant or previously hidden plans. The trick? The Moon is in Aries with Saturn on the same day, so there is some tension between what is possible in the future and what needs to be addressed immediately.
  • Reset: Mercury meets the Sun on May 14th and then the New Moon in Taurus on May 16th. Both offer the opportunity to recalibrate, let go of the old, let go of fear, worry and emotional and energetic baggage from the past. Don’t get stuck doing what you’ve always done or things you once thought you should do. Change your way of thinking, look at different options and find a new path forward.

This second week of May is less dramatic and busy than other parts of the month, so I hope you get a chance to breathe, be in nature, and move at a slower, more sustainable pace.

Of all the influences listed above, the Moon in Pisces with the Sun sextile in aspect to Jupiter stands out, so plan something restful and enjoyable for May 10-12, if you can.
