Canada’s Lululemon names Heidi O’Neill new CEO

lululemon athletic inc. announced yesterday that, after an exhaustive search process, the company’s Board of Directors unanimously approved the appointment of industry veteran Heidi O’Neill as the company’s next CEO. Ms. O’Neill will begin as CEO and join the board of directors effective September 8, 2026, and will be based in Vancouver.

“Heidi is an inspiring leader and proven, consumer-driven brand strategist, with a rare ability to both envision a new future for a brand and create the structure and processes necessary to deliver on that vision,” he said. Lululemon has named Nike veteran Heidi O’Neill as CEO, effective September 8, 2026, based in Vancouver. With over three decades of experience, he is expected to accelerate product innovation, digital transformation and global expansion. The interim co-CEOs will return to their previous roles, ensuring continuity as the brand drives growth, strengthens connection with consumers and enhances market presence.

Ms. O’Neill brings more than three decades of experience in performance apparel, footwear and sports, with a strong track record of driving disruptive change and growth at scale through product innovation, digital transformation and powerful brand connection. During his career at Nike, Inc., he helped grow the company from a more than $9 billion business to a more than $45 billion global leader. He played a central role in overseeing the company’s product portfolio, brand voice and operations, as well as shaping its connection with consumers and athletes around the world. Earlier in her career, Ms. O’Neill worked in marketing for the Dockers brand at Levi Strauss & Co. She brings additional strategy and leadership perspectives through service on the boards of consumer-facing companies including Spotify Technology, Hyatt Hotels and Lithia & Driveway.

Meghan Frank and André Maestrini will continue to lead as interim co-CEOs until O’Neill joins the company. At that time, Ms. Frank and Mr. Maestrini plan to return to their former senior leadership roles and work closely with Ms. O’Neill and the rest of the leadership team to build momentum.
