“Many of our members want their points to take them beyond the major hubs. The partnership with Philippine Airlines opens up more Asia and adds 15 destinations that were previously missing from our partner network,” said Andrew Glance, CEO of Qantas Loyalty.
“From the world-class beaches of Boracay to the limestone lagoons of El Nido, these are destinations that feel like a real reward. Members can now create a complete island-hopping itinerary using points, connecting through Manila to some of the most remote and beautiful places in Southeast Asia.”
Classic Reward seats are available in Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins with PAL, which operates 22 weekly flights to Australia, including daily A330 services from Sydney and daily A321neo LR services from Brisbane.
According to PAL chairman Richard Nuttall, the deal “builds on the airline’s long-standing links with Australia”.
“Loyalty partnerships are an important way to expand Mabuhay Miles’ reach and create more value for our members,” he said.
“Together with Qantas, we are strengthening our links with Australia, making it easier for Australians to visit the Philippines while enjoying greater choice and flexibility with their miles.”
According to Qantas, its customers are increasingly looking to use their frequent flyer points to book seats on partner airlines.
“New data from the Philippine Department of Tourism shows a significant increase in Australians traveling to the Philippines, with a 19 per cent increase in Australian visitor arrivals in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year,” the airline said.
“These new reward seats add to the 20 million seats available to book on Qantas, Jetstar and 30 partner airlines including Emirates, American Airlines and Cathay Pacific. The number of Classic Reward seats booked through partner airlines has doubled in the last five years.”
Philippine Airlines serves more than 70 destinations in Asia, North America, Oceania and Europe.
