Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (HIOW ICB) has rolled out the IEG4 digital continuing healthcare (CHC) solution as part of the organisation’s digital transformation.

There are currently approximately 6,200 cases held in the system, including CHC, funded nursing care, children and youth and adult cases.

The platform aims to improve the management of NHS-funded care packages by streamlining referrals, assessments, approvals, recruitment, payments and case management.

Since the contract was signed in December 2025, the organizations have worked together to implement the solution, with its phased rollout taking place between March and July 2026.

Shelley Lewis, deputy director of continuing care for all ages at HIOW ICB, said: “We are grateful to colleagues at IEG4 for their support in the implementation of the new platform.

“This software is critical to supporting the transformation agenda of our all-ages continuum of care teams, as we look to further improve and innovate the way we work.”

NHS Continuing Healthcare is a package of care organized and funded solely by the NHS and is awarded when a person is classed as having a ‘primary health need’, meaning their care needs must be met and funded by the NHS.

The five-year contract aligns with similar initiatives in the region, including NHS Somerset ICB’s selection of IEG4’s digital CHC platform in August 2024.

Stephen Ferry, IEG Group Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to welcome Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB to our digital CHC community and support them in addressing their current challenges with our intuitive end-to-end platform.

“In light of the government’s recent announcement that ICBs must reduce costs by 50%, now is the time to modernize the healthcare continuum to deliver efficiencies, reduce costs and free up workforce capacity.

“At IEG4, we are dedicated to supporting ICBs through this challenging landscape and ensuring they provide an optimized service that meets those challenges and stakeholder expectations.”

The move to a fully digital CHC solution is expected to improve visibility, efficiency, governance and financial control of all services..

In March, Digital Health reported how West Yorkshire ICB operationalized the IEG4 platform in Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership to help facilitate the transition from children and young people to adult care.
