Dear friends,
The New Moon in Aries will occur on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 7:51 a.m. ET, shortly after sunrise. The Sun and the Moon will meet in one of the last (anaretic) degrees of Aries. This is the last in a long series of New Moons of last degrees: the previous ones were Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sadge, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. The final degrees of a sign are considered the “most significant,” so expect an extra dose of Cardinal Fire, beginning with the Moon’s entry into Aries on Wednesday morning. It is an energy that surrounds everything.
The New Moon chart issued for Washington, DC (see below!) has a set of planets in the 11th House of Human Rights and the 12th House of Secrets and Endings, with Venus and Uranus in Taurus on the Ascendant. It’s a creative, fast-moving, out-of-control graphic (probably in a good way!).
There is also a huge Finger of God formed by Pluto and Juno in Aquarius on one side, and closely conjoined Neptune, Mercury, Mars and Saturn on the other, pointing to the South Node of Destiny, the Node of liberation, which is currently conjunct the World Point at 7.5 degrees Virgo. God’s fingers are “predestined” energies. Be on the lookout for important decisions and dramatic revelations that require you to step forward and work on your karmic purpose with strength and maturity. Let us put aside the illusion that unanimity is possible. You’re going to have to make waves, jeopardize relationships. If you have been living with integrity for a long time, there won’t be many shaky foundations that can crumble with this reorganization. But the “get along to get along” type of thing is collapsing very quickly.
Ceres’s parallel, Regulus, encourages each of us to be the king or queen of our own lives, confidently committed to what we create next.
Let’s also take another look at the first Aries planets: Mars and Mercury are besieged (i.e. sandwiched) between Neptune and Saturn. Mars and Saturn are not friends. Mars is under his rule, while Saturn hates being in Aries, so the bear is being picked on. It is a very stressed section of heaven that is prompting you to make a profound change in your sense of self. What are you letting go and what are you incorporating?
