TL;DR

  • Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S12 and S26 FE have just appeared referenced in the Google application.
  • Google compiles a list of future devices that will arrive with a free Google AI premium trial for new owners.
  • The new models will likely launch sometime in September, if not sooner.

We’re just days, even hours, away from Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event, when, this Wednesday, we expect to see it unveil the latest Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Flip, and Galaxy Watch models. But as excited as we are about those launches, they’re not the only new Samsung products currently on our radar. Looking a little further, we also anticipate some new tablets with the Galaxy Tab S12 series, as well as the next addition to the Galaxy S26 family with the launch of the Galaxy S26 FE. While they will likely have to wait for another Samsung event, we already have some initial evidence that shows the preparation work for their arrival is underway.

There are many places where we can expect a new device to appear and make its presence felt before a formal launch. The FCC certification documentation is a great example, or perhaps any of the various agencies that certify batteries. But there’s another one where we’re seeing a certain kind of new hardware pop up again and again: an internal list in the Google app of devices set to offer their owners a free trial of a paid Google AI account.

As expected, the Flip 8 and Fold 8 models are already there. But we also just spotted a couple of new additions:

Indeed, the Tab S12 and S26 FE (both without Galaxy) now make an appearance. While this doesn’t give us anything resembling a firm ETA for either, it certainly supports the idea that we’re very quickly starting to get closer to both becoming official.

That said, we can make some educated guesses, and if Samsung sticks to anything resembling its previous schedule, we’ll probably be looking at a reveal sometime in September, following launches in September last year for the Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 series.

At least, that seems like the most likely outcome here, but it’s entirely possible we could see them land even sooner – the Fold 8 and Flip 8 only appeared on this list about a week ago, which could possibly hint that Samsung plans to push things back until sometime in August. However, at this point that’s largely just speculation, and we’ll probably want to wait for something a little more concrete before we start preparing to place our pre-orders.
