When no one was protecting the newborns. arrived, when the industry was a closed door, where You either knew someone or you didn’t. He went to FTII on merit, came to Bombay, earned 50 rupees a week, lived in a small rented room and managed against all odds on his own terms. Instead of asking for money from home, he became capable enough to support his family financially from his own earnings. Years later, when I wanted to follow him in the same industry, do you know what he did? fought his own battles in those same corridors of Bollywood, he went from office to office, holding my photo, fighting for his son and when no one believed in me, he decided to risk his life savings to produce my first film. The only tribute I could give him was to leave the offer on a plate and follow his inspiration, fight on my own and achieve it with his blessings and prayers. He is my hero, my inspiration and a hard act to follow.
