Engineering and maintenance provider. HAECO has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Fly Meta Group to advance strategic collaboration on a range of MRO services in support of the cargo airline’s growing widebody cargo aircraft operations.
Under the agreement, HAECO and Hong Kong-based Fly Meta will work to develop a long-term partnership based on HAECO’s maintenance network and technical capabilities.
The collaboration will focus on airframe maintenance, line maintenance, engine services, landing gear maintenance, composite services, and component maintenance and repair for Fly Meta’s fleet of Boeing 747F and 777F freighters.
Engine mount is expected to form a central part of the partnership. HAECO Engine Services (Xiamen) is expected to provide repair, overhaul, wing support and replacement engine support of the GE90 engine. Services on multiple GE90 engines are expected to begin in the second half of 2026, once a multi-year engine service agreement is formalized.
The companies will also explore opportunities to expand aircraft maintenance collaboration in Hong Kong, Xiamen and across the Greater China region as Fly Meta continues to grow its fleet.
HAECO currently provides line maintenance support to more than 140 airlines worldwide through a network of 19 line maintenance stations in Hong Kong and mainland China.
Gerald Steinhoff, HAECO’s chief commercial officer, said: “By combining Fly Meta’s growing cargo platform with HAECO’s end-to-end MRO capabilities, including our dedicated airframe, engine and component teams throughout mainland China and Hong Kong, we are well positioned to support the long-term development of its fleet and global operations.”
Helen Chen, CEO of Fly Meta, said: “We are delighted to partner with HAECO as we continue to expand our freighter business. “HAECO’s strong track record in safe, reliable and high-quality integrated MRO solutions will provide reliable support to our fleet, effectively improving our operational efficiency and future growth in a highly competitive logistics environment.”
