The service joins existing seasonal connections from Channel Island to Norwich, East Midlands and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

“Bordeaux is a fantastic addition to our Jersey calendar for the summer, offering customers a direct gateway to one of France’s most popular regions. Whether traveling for a long weekend or an extended getaway, this new route provides a convenient and enjoyable way to explore all the area has to offer.

“We remain committed to improving connectivity for Jersey, and this latest addition, together with our wider network of seasonal services, ensures customers have even more choice when planning their summer trips,” said commercial director Ronnie Matheson.

Matt Thomas, chief executive of Jersey Ports, said the route marks an important step forward for European connectivity.

“The introduction of direct flights to Bordeaux marks an important step forward for Jersey’s European connectivity. In addition to our popular service to Paris, this twice-weekly route offers islanders greater flexibility to travel to the south of France, while opening Jersey to a wider catchment area of over a million people living in the Bordeaux and Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.

“This represents a valuable opportunity for both inbound and outbound tourism. We are pleased to continue working closely with Loganair as they strengthen their presence and long-term investment in Jersey,” Thomas said.

The airline offers a 21kg baggage allowance as standard for passengers on the new route. Fares start at £79.99 from Jersey and €89.99 from Bordeaux.
