The site is being converted into a fully integrated facility combining aircraft storage, line and base maintenance, cabin renovation, reconfiguration and disassembly services. Plans include infrastructure improvements and additional hangar capacity to support a growing volume of maintenance and transition projects.

Located in the heart of Europe, the Rijeka location offers scalable aircraft parking and a cost-effective operating environment, making it ideal for storage, redelivery programs and end-of-life asset strategies.

Frank Kusserow, CEO of the Aerotec Group, said: “With the acquisition of Global Aerotech, we are taking the next step towards building a customer-centric platform for aircraft maintenance, transitions and asset optimization. With Rijeka Airport, we are establishing a Central European hub that allows us to combine storage, base maintenance, cabin renovation and disassembly services in one location.

“The site infrastructure, which includes a 2,500m runway, 24-hour IFR operations and the ability to accommodate a wide range of aircraft, including widebodies, provides the operational foundation to support efficient aircraft transitions and maintenance programs for our customers.

“We are also very pleased that the former shareholders of Global Aerotech remain involved, supporting the continued development of the business and ensuring a smooth integration into the Aerotec Group.”

René Mamet, Vice President of Operations at Aerotec Group, said: “The growing demand for efficient maintenance, storage and asset transition solutions is driven by continued supply chain constraints and limited parts availability across the market. With Rijeka, we are creating a scalable operational platform that combines line and base maintenance capabilities with direct access to component support, enabling faster response times and greater flexibility for our customers.”

He added that the group is expanding its line and base maintenance network in Europe, the Middle East and Africa under a unified framework aligned with EASA Part 145 and Part 21, as well as FAA, UK CAA and GCAA standards.

The acquisition expands Aerotec’s reach across the entire aircraft lifecycle, from component repair and materials supply to base maintenance, transitions and end-of-life services.

With the support of Aviationscouts, the group also facilitates access to more than 100,000 aircraft parts, strengthening material availability across its platform.

Further development in Rijeka will include AFRA-aligned dismantling and separation operations, strengthening Aerotec’s capabilities in sustainable end-of-life aircraft solutions.
