With the 2025/26 Ligue 1 campaign coming to an end on Sunday night, we have a packed calendar of all of France’s elite lined up.
While reigning European champions PSG could have successfully defended their domestic crown with time to spare, the battles at both ends of the table will be decided this weekend.
Ahead of what should be an exciting night of Ligue 1 action, we’ve taken a look at some of the most attractive betting markets available on Sunday night.
21:00 Lyon-Lens
Seeing their prolonged purple run come to an abrupt end last time out, when they finally fell to a 2-1 defeat at Toulouse, Lyon will be desperate for an immediate response here. However, as they opened their season finale on Sunday night, they were just one point away from overtaking Lille and reaching the bronze medal, Les Gones are also firmly sitting in the driving seat of a lucrative Champions League berth this weekend. After starting May with a sensational performance, achieving a thrilling 4-2 home victory against Rennes, Paulo Fonseca’s team will be dreaming of repeating their performance here. Likewise, after closing April with a dizzying 3-2 victory against Auxerre, Lyon have won each of their other four matches in Ligue 1. Despite managing just one clean sheet in their last four attempts, Sunday’s hosts have impressed with their clinical performances in the final third. It should be noted that the former Roma boss has seen his Champions League chasers win their previous three consecutive Ligue 1 clashes against their own fans by an aggregate score of 9-4.
While Lens may have last been seen suffering a 2-0 home defeat against Champions League finalists PSG, Pierre Sage’s record-breaking side have firmly cemented their place as one of Europe’s definitive surprise packages this season. The yellows, who already achieved an impressive silver medal among the French elite, have embarked on a surprising national streak. Earning their place in this season’s Coupe de France final on April 21 as they powered their way to a resounding 4-1 victory against Toulouse, Sunday’s guests have rightly received a host of plaudits from across the continent. Lens, who have suffered just one defeat in any of their last six appearances in all competitions, should also be excited by a dominant recent record against Les Gones. Beating Lyon on March 5 as they extended their iconic Coupe de France campaign, Sage’s side have lost just one of their last six games, a streak stretching back to a 2-1 defeat in February 2023.

21:00 Brest-Angers
Enjoying what was a sensational six-game unbeaten run either side of the start of March, Brest suddenly had their sights set on mounting a surprising first-half charge. However, having last fallen to a 2-1 home defeat against Strasbourg, the Pirates have returned to earth in worrying fashion. Having started May with a nightmare 4-0 at the hands of Paris FC, Eric Roy’s side have already accepted that they will be forced to settle for finishing in the bottom half of the French elite this month. Brest, who returned from the March international break with a dizzying 4-3 defeat at the hands of Rennes, have failed to find any form of defensive stability. Including a dramatic 3-3 draw at home against a high-flying Lens on April 24, Roy’s side have also scored nine goals in just their three previous Ligue 1 clashes in front of their own fans. It is also worth noting that, earning a reputation for lively results, Pirates have failed to record a single clean sheet in the top flight since 8 March.
Although Angers could have held on to a 1-1 home draw against Strasbourg last time out as they officially extended their Ligue 1 status for another campaign, Alexandre Dujeux’s side are limping towards the finish line. Beginning May with a dismal 3-1 defeat at Auxerre, Les Scoistes have taken just three points in any of their previous eight consecutive appearances, a routine that dates back to March 7. Heading into the March fortnight with a woeful 5-1 draw against Lens, Angers have also shown their own obvious defensive struggles. Apart from scoring seven goals in their last three consecutive games, Sunday’s visitors have only managed a single clean sheet in Ligue 1 since the beginning of February. It is also worth noting that Dujeux’s side have lost their previous three consecutive top-flight meetings away from the Stade Raymond Kopa by an aggregate score of 10-3. In a season finale between two leaky defenses, we’re backing what could be a nice matchup this weekend.
