Glasner hopes ‘third time’s the charm’ as Palace battle Larnaca again

Palace created several chances but could not find a breakthrough, and the opposition goalkeeper made a series of important saves to keep the score down.

Glasner admitted his team were organized and dominant for long periods but not at their best, something they must rectify before the second leg next week.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, he said: “I think the performance was okay, not great. We had enough chances to win the match. We were very well organised. We knew it was not easy to create chances and score goals.

“We had opportunities to score at least two, credit to the goalkeeper. We were dominant, but the set pieces were not easy with the wind and credit to them.

“It is the first leg and the tie will be decided in Cyprus.

“We will play the third game against them and it is time to score. Maybe we will change some things. It is clear that if they (only) concede one in the group stage, they will not concede three or four against us tonight.

“Maybe we have to wake up to his style a little.”
