I’m home after a wonderful weekend in Palm Springs diving into the progressions and the 2026 calendar.
What a gift it was to be together in person, learn, connect and grow.
I remembered that at the beginning of my astrological journey, all learning occurred in person, whether in weekly classes, monthly meetings, or annual events such as conferences.
It was wonderful to revisit the absolute joy of being together, learning and delving into such rich material, and then being able to share a meal and some laughs together at the end of the day.
(My next in person The event is in France in March. if you would also like to learn and grow together in person).
Of course, a major topic of conversation over the weekend was the change of Neptune in Aries.
Neptune in Aries in history
We analyze this cycle historically: Neptune in Aries has much more than war.
In fact, it’s not as if Neptune in Pisces was an absence of war, given the world events of the last decade and a half.
When you consider the charts of people born with Neptune in Aries, one of whom was a devout advocate of non-violence, Mohandas Mahatma Gandhi, you see people born with Neptune in Aries who actively campaigned against aggression and war.
May this next cycle bring more activists and movements against aggressive actions around the world.
Canada, Russia and the United States
Students explored the links of the transit of Neptune in Aries with specific countries such as Canada, the United States, and Russia. One area to watch in this next cycle of Neptune in Aries will be the Arctic, including the Northwest Passage, and who controls what in the far north.
In the last transit of Neptune in Aries, the United States ‘bought’ Alaska from Russia in the Alaska Purchase, and Canada became the country entity it is today.
Transportation, Communication and Movement
In previous cycles of Neptune in Aries, newspapers began in England (1701-2), the first cross-country east/west telegraph system was created in the US, courtesy of Western Union in 1861.
The first London Underground arrived in 1863 and the Suez Canal opened in 1869, which had huge implications for shipping and global trade as it opened a direct route between Europe and Asia.
So Neptune in Aries has connections to a broader exchange of information, historically through the printing press and the telegraph, which were current technologies in their time. This transit also has links to the accelerated movement of people and goods, through improved transit and improvements in logistics, transportation and shipping.
It may be helpful to explore past cycles of a transit to explore the many facets of what this next cycle could bring.
Neptune in Aries and you
That being said, I imagine many of you are wondering how Neptune in Aries might influence you personally.
The most direct way will be through transit to planets or angles in your chart.
In the near future, this will be you if you have planets in the first degrees of the cardinal signs, which include Aries, as well as Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.
I cover this material in many of my teachings on transits and timing, which you can review here and here. You may also be interested in this free 11-minute video where I answer a student’s question about transits.
A less specific but no less relevant way to take advantage of Neptune in Aries will be through the Aries house themes in your chart.
There are MANY general trends and themes related to Neptune’s change in Aries, as at any time a major, slow-moving planet changes signs.
Let me know what questions you have in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer them in the future.
Your houses Pisces and Aries
For now, I’d like to invite you to contemplate your own chart. Identify the topics of the house of Pisces, where Neptune left, and the topics of the house of Aries, where Neptune is still unpacking.
There are many possible Neptune keywords and concepts you can draw on, from mystical and messy to inspired and imaginative.
When you start to tune into the Pisces parts of your chart and life without the influence of Neptune (for the first time since 2011!), what do you notice? What feels different? Do you prefer the absence of Neptune here or do you feel like something is missing?
Then, when you bring your attention to the themes of the Aries part of your chart and your life.
Are you imagining wild new possibilities? Are you more sensitive – either emotionally or energetically – to issues related to this area of life? Is there something that you are not seeing or that you are too optimistic and idealistic about?
I also wanted to share these reflection questions from a book called Astrology Alive by Barabar Schermer that you may find helpful as you tune into Neptune.
- What areas of my life do I suspect I don’t see clearly?
- Do I have illusions now about my life or anyone in it?
- Is there something I’m addicted to? Does this have repercussions on my life or the lives of others?
While Neptune has its messy, confusing, and confusing side, descending slowly and feeling your way forward can help add a more soulful, more sustainable way of being to your world.
May Neptune in Aries inspire us all to act from a place of compassion and reduce the suffering of those we encounter.
