Wade Wilson gained a huge fan base through his appearances during the trial, attracting thousands of people. Some of the women even came forward in the docuseries and admitted that they were attracted to the serial killer despite knowing what he had done. The docuseries explores the case, Wade’s own statements and the impact his actions had.
Handsome devil: charming killer, introduces the world to the horrible acts of Wade Wilson

The opening shot of the documentary series is an image of Wade Wilson’s smiling face. A smile that fooled thousands of people around the world into overlooking the crimes he had committed and thinking they could “fix” him if they had the chance. Wade, who became known as the ‘Deadpool Killer’ because he shares the same name as Ryan Reynolds’ character in Deadpool, received love letters in prison during the trial. However, the series reminds everyone why exactly he was put behind bars in the first place.
The first episode of Handsome devil: charming killer takes place on the night of October 6, 2019 in Fort Myers, Florida, where Wade is outside a local club with Mila Montanez, his girlfriend at the time. While he took his car and went to do drugs, Mila stayed behind. Cut to the next morning: Wade showed up at his spa in a different car and busted his lip trying to get in. Police tracked him to a parking lot across the road, but did not pursue him when he drove away.

However, Fort Myers Police were unaware that Wade had already murdered Kristine Melton in her home, and after driving away from that parking lot, he would randomly encounter Diane Ruiz on the street and brutally murder her as well. While police searched for Wade, the bodies of the two women were found after receiving a missing persons call for both of them. Wade hid in a random house, but contacted his biological father, Steven Testasecca.
Wade Wilson’s location was sent to the police by his own father.

As soon as Steven knew where his son was, he made the difficult decision and informed the authorities of his son’s location. Steven Testasecca also volunteered to visit him in jail to try to get Wade to tell him where Diane’s body was. During that visit, Wade Wilson went over the gruesome details of how he killed Diane Ruiz, which included running her over with his car several times after strangling her.
Is Handsome devil: charming killer Is it worth streaming?
Speaking of the realization of Handsome devil: charming killer, The production style is surely not in the running for any awards. However, the goal of the series, as has been said, is not to impress but to present the events of the case in the most truthful way possible. While the production value is really commendable. However, this is more like a pirated docuseries on Investigation Discovery than anything else.

There is no wit in the way events are presented. What will leave you chilled, however, is not how little attention this docuseries has given to Wade Wilson’s victims, but the truth behind Wade’s looks and charm, and how he was able to attract viral attention, despite the brutality of his murders and the strange tattoos he got on his face while in prison. An interview with Wade’s ex-girlfriend, Mila Montanez, dominates the first episode.
What’s even more interesting is how the longer Wade was missing, the more Mila admitted to authorities that she would tell him about her desire to kill someone. However, despite knowing that she simply chalked it up to “man talk”, completely ignoring the fact that he had hit her so badly that he was sent to prison for it just a few months before the incident. While that would warn one about her partner’s tendencies, Mila seemed completely distant, until she discovered that Wade had actually killed people.
While it’s clear that if Mila had paid more attention, the horrendous acts could have been avoided, Wade Wilson evidently speaks calmly, making it more difficult to understand his intentions. Wade not only fully utilized his appearance and ability to charm people and conceal his intentions, but he also used them to get a good portion of the public on his side. But that also means that, as with many true crime series about infamous killers, it gets the attention it craved and the victims and their families are mostly treated as supporting characters in the drama.
final verdict on Handsome devil: charming killer

Understanding Steven Testasecca’s heroic decision to not only hand over his son, Wade, but also get him to confess to Diana’s murder really gives us chills. What shook the audience even more was how Steven remained calm the entire time while listening to Wade go over the gruesome details of both murders. Mila Montanez also deserves some credit for coming on camera to admit that she gave Wade multiple chances, especially after he beat her to a pulp. Speaking of the soundtrack, the series used a song. Something about this just isn’t right, which, honestly, is disturbing for the brand.
