In this offering I wanted to briefly mention the event of the cazimi of Mercury, on January 21.
A cazimi is a special type of conjunction that only occurs when a visible planet conjoins the Sun. A planet that is cazimi has special power and influence.
Symbolically it is as if the planet cazimi were at the heart of the Sun, as if the planet joined the Sun in its sacred sanctuary.
One way to think of a cazimi planet is that it communes with the source of divine wisdom.
High Mercury: logical mind
Since that planet is Mercury, you may find your mind illuminated with insight and clarity, or you may gain new awareness and understanding about a current issue.
Ideas and interests may crystallize, or you may have an ‘A ha!’ moment.
Like an internal light bulb that goes off, Mercury cazimi can help you organize your thoughts or be specific in communication. This could also help achieve advances in technology, networking or logistics coordination for the future.
Mercury Cazimi in 2026
Due to its fast speed and closeness to the Sun, Mercury is cooler than any other planet (except the Moon!).
In fact, in 2026, Mercury will be there six times: three times retrograde and three times direct.
Of the six Mercury events in 2026, the best appears to be August 27, when Mercury meets the Sun while direct and in Virgo (4 Virgo). This will be a shrewd and grounded version of Mercury cazimi, which can promise practical solutions and help solve a problem.
