Los Angeles police responded Sunday after someone drove a U-Haul truck down a street filled with protesters demonstrating in support of the Iranian people, causing protesters to jump out of the way and then run after the vehicle at full speed in an attempt to attack the driver.
The U-Haul truck, with its side mirrors shattered, was stopped several blocks away and surrounded by police cars. Helicopter footage from ABC7 showed officers keeping the crowd at bay as protesters surrounded the truck, throwing punches at the driver and throwing flagpoles through the driver’s side window.
