What is a fee?
Tariffs are used by countries that have limited natural resources. These countries often lack skilled labor to produce certain types of goods and manufactures. They often barter or trade with other countries that have the labor necessary to produce what they need for their people. There is nothing fair about trade between many nations, as the graph above illustrates. As always, politics, money and competition come into play. There may be many times when both parties are not happy with the deal. However, trade is not always carried out amicably between trading partners. Politics, religious ideas, competition, and many other factors can make business partners dissatisfied.
Often, when countries have different political views, they impose tariffs to show their lack of support for their trading partners’ belief systems. This is very common nowadays regarding different countries that have religious differences. (Example: Muslim vs. Christian vs. Jew) A tariff is basically a tax that is imposed on a country on its goods and services to raise money and protect its competitive advantage. One of the ways governments deal with trading partners they disagree with is through tariffs. A tariff is a tax that a country imposes on goods and services imported from another country to influence it, increase revenue, or protect competitive advantages. Tariffs restrict the importation of certain products in order to get people to buy domestically produced products in their country. The only solution is to have equals, end of problems.
