On the third ball of the fifth over, Varun Chakaravarthy He bowled a long delivery outside off, tempting Head to go big. The left-hander made space and threw it high to long, confident of clearing the ropes. However, Tilak had other ideas.
The young Indian fielder ran to his left, timed his jump perfectly and grabbed the ball over his head. Realizing he was close to the boundary, Tilak showed excellent awareness, flicking the ball infield before going out and returning to complete the catch cleanly. Josh Hazlewood’s heroics derail India’s innings
Earlier in the evening, the Indian batting line-up struggled to cope with the relentless Australian bowling attack after they were asked to bat first. Josh Hazlewood once again he led the charge, wreaking havoc with his immaculate line and length. The right-arm pacer provided a bowling masterclass, returning with magnificent figures of 3 wickets for just 13 runs in 4 overs.
India were bowled out for 125 in 18.4 overs, with Hazlewood dismantling the top order and denying the visitors any chance to build momentum. His precision forced several false hits and constant pressure from the other end ensured that India could not recover.
Amidst the chaos, Abhishek Sharma stood tall with a brilliant knock of 68 runs off 37 balls, decorated with 8 fours and 2 sixes. The young opener played with positive intent, punishing anything loose and showing composure while others struggled. His innings was the only silver lining for India, helping them reach a somewhat respectable total despite the collapse around him.
