Trump responded: “I should end the war (in Ukraine).

“A war that should have lasted a week is now in its fourth year. That’s what it should do instead of testing missiles.”

He also warned: “You know we have a nuclear submarine, the best in the world, right off your coast. It doesn’t need to fly 8,000 miles.”

“They’re not playing with us. We’re not playing with them either.”

Trump also hinted that new sanctions could be on the way.

Asked if Putin would be affected by other measures, Trump responded: “You’ll find out.”

Putin announced over the weekend that his menacing 9M730 Burevestnik missile, NATO codenamed “Skyfall,” had been successfully test-launched.

He boasted that it was a “nuclear engine-powered weapon of unlimited range” and said it could fly for days.

“Skyfall” was previously described by senior State Department official Thomas Countryman as an “exceptionally stupid weapons system.”

He called the Burevestnik a “flying Chernobyl that poses a greater threat to Russia than other countries” because of its deadly radioactive trail.

He completed a 14,000 kilometer flight and 15 hours in flight, according to a senior Russian general.

The nuclear-powered cruise missile is about 12 meters long and carries a thermonuclear warhead.

It was first introduced in 2018 and was one of six Russian “superweapons” hailed by Putin.

Its sister projects include the Satan 2 nuclear missile, the Zircon, Avangard and Kinzhal hypersonic weapons, and the Poseidon underwater nuclear drone.

He previously stated that he was “invincible” against the current and even future missile defense systems.

Until the most recent launch, the Burevestnik had only had two partial successes out of 13 known tests, according to the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI).

Failed mishaps included an unexpected explosion in 2019 during a botched recovery following a prototype crash, according to State Department records.

But it is now in its final stage of development having overcome its problems and will soon be deployed to the front line, Putin said on Sunday.
