Theresa Nist would like your attention.
Or, to be more precise and specific, Theresa Nist would like to get the attention of her ex-husband.
For those who don’t know, Gerry Turned has written a memoir titled “Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV.”
In a previous interview with Us Weekly, the original Golden Bachelor — who proposed to Nist on his season finale, then married her months later on air, and then announced their divorce in April 2024 — said his ex-wife “should be worried” about the content of this book.

What a weird and rude thing to say, huh?
“I’m normally a very calm person. And all I want is peace and joy and good things in my life,” Theresa said on the latest edition of the Dear Shandy podcast.
“I’ve been very upset. I’ve been extremely upset. Every time I talk about anything I read that he said about any interaction we had, I just say, ‘It wasn’t like that.'”
As?
According to Theresa, there was a “distance” between her and Turner that started on their date night.
It wasn’t until the couple was in the fantasy suite, when she started talking about her work, that she felt the dynamic “completely changed.”
Are you implying here that Turner was in your relationship for his money?
“He began to proclaim his love for me. [He said]’I love you. I love you. I love you. And I’m going to ask you to marry me and whether you say yes or no, that’s up to you.’ I was surprised,” Theresa recalled, noting that she thought Gerry had a stronger connection with runner-up Leslie Fhima.

Elsewhere, Nist said Turner had quite the temper.
For example, one night she tried to go to sleep as early as her husband, but Turner reportedly lost control.
“I was awake for like an hour and I was about to go to sleep and all of a sudden he storms out of the room calling me a liar,” Theresa said on air, claiming that Gerry said the comments in a “very bad mood.”
In his book, Turner said he felt “trapped” the night before the couple’s wedding.
However, this was news to Nist, who says the two never discussed these feelings.
“I have to say, I always said I like to live my life without regrets, but I made some mistakes here. I regret getting married so quickly. That shouldn’t have happened,” Theresa confessed on the podcast, emphasizing that Turner should have canceled the ceremony if she really thought it was a bad idea.

Also in her memoir, Turner alleged that her now ex was hesitant to sign a prenup.
However, Nist now tells a different story about his confusion over which documents to return to her.
“Gerry wanted the prenup and I said, ‘No, I would never in a million years take your money.’ Then he dropped it,” Theresa explained.
Turner, however, changed his mind and finally asked Theresa to sign the prenuptial agreement. There seems to be a lot of miscommunication here.

It also seems as if ex-spouses don’t have the best sex life, to put it bluntly.
At one point, when he visited Theresa at her home in New Jersey, Gerry alleged that she “rejected” his attempts at physical intimacy and made him sleep on the couch.
Teresa, for her part?
“I haven’t slept with anyone in nine years,” he says now.
“I didn’t sleep all night and I don’t sleep very well. The next morning they asked me, ‘How did you sleep?’ I said, “I didn’t sleep at all.” We slept together the first night. He said, ‘Oh, I can sleep on the couch if you want.’ He offered to sleep on the couch. “I didn’t ask him to sleep on the couch,” Theresa said.

About a year ago, Turner was diagnosed with cancer.
Nist said that she absolutely would have been by Gerry’s side throughout this entire battle and that the diagnosis had nothing to do with their divorce.
Many months have passed and Nist has not given up on love.
“I really want to get married. I want love in my life. That’s what I wanted. That was the goal of this,” she said on the podcast.
