The aviation IT giant’s next-generation digital solution will allow the airline to offer more personalized options and help its customers plan their trips.

Amadeus said it will also “enable the airline to operate more efficiently, increase revenue and respond quickly to changing traveler needs.”

Alex de Jesús, chief experience officer at Volotea, said: “Continuing our collaboration with Navitaire allows us to further leverage technology to improve the way we serve our customers.

“With Navitaire Stratos, we are taking the next step to deliver more relevant and flexible booking experiences that drive customer satisfaction, while developing the agility and resilience our teams need to stay ahead of changing traveler expectations.”

Amadeus describes Navitaire Stratos as a “dynamic, cloud-native, digital-first retail portfolio that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.”

The platform was developed to offer a more responsive service and will help Volotea optimize operations through connections with airline partners and third-party providers, such as car rental companies and hotel booking platforms.

It also provides the ability to adapt to market demands through an open technological architecture.

Maher Koubaa, Executive Vice President of Amadeus Travel and General Manager EMEA, said:

“Volotea is one of Europe’s most innovative low-cost airlines, and we are honored to be selected to accelerate its retail transformation. Navitaire Stratos is designed to empower forward-thinking airlines, and the agreement illustrates how we can help Volotea achieve operational and retail excellence.”

Volotea has also expanded an existing New Skies agreement with Navitaire, ensuring business continuity as Navitaire Stratos launches.

Volotea is an airline based in Barcelona founded in 2011 by Carlos Muñoz and Lázaro Ros. Today, the LCC offers point-to-point flights connecting mainly small and medium-sized cities, focusing on single routes through Europe and North Africa.
