This year has not been kind to the Osbourne family.

Just three months after the death at age 76 of the patriarch of the television dynasty, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, his wife and daughter are mourning the loss of another beloved family member.

“I can’t believe I’m posting this, but my beloved Elvis passed away this week,” Sharon Osbourne wrote on an emotional post he shared on his Instagram on Sunday. The late Black Sabbath frontman’s wife of 43 years posted four photos of her and Ozzy with dog Elvis over the years, continuing with her caption: “He gave me 14 precious [years]. He was by my side until the end. Rest in peace my dear child! 💔”

The daughter of pop culture power couple Kelly Osbourne shared his own tribute to Elvis the same day. Over a carousel of two photos of the Siberian husky and a video of herself with Elvis, Kelly wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that I let everyone know that we lost Elvis this week. Our guardian angel has left us. Elvis has not left my side since my father passed away. He helped me get through the darkest time of my life.”

“I keep trying to find something positive in all of this and the only thing I can think of is that maybe my dad needed it,” Kelly continued. “Life can be very cruel but also give you many treasures. We were very lucky to have Elvis for 14 years. Thank you for all the love you received, Elvis. I love you 💔 sleep well, sweet prince, until we meet again!”

Although Elvis entered Osbourne’s life five years after the final episode of The Osbournesthe reality show that launched the rest of the family to Ozzy’s level of fame, made frequent appearances on each family member’s social media pages and even stopped by the studio to visit Sharon during her tenure as co-host of The talk.

The world joined in collective mourning last July, when it was revealed that Ozzy had lost his six-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

“It is with more sadness than simple words can convey, we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love,” the family shared in a statement at the time, signed by Sharon, Kelly, his brother Jack, who also appeared on The Osbournesand Aimee and Louis, who have chosen to stay out of the spotlight.

Since his death, a host of Ozzy’s famous friends, fans and collaborators have paid tribute to his mark on rock music and pop culture.

His Black Sabbath bandmates each shared their own tearful messages over his passing, with lead guitarist Tommy Iommi noting that “there will never be another like him.” Adam Sandler, who co-starred with Ozzy in the 2000 comedy. little nickyshe shared that “no one was tougher” and that she “loved him as much as we all did.”
