The best FW26 soundtracks, so far

Fashion Week isn’t just about clothes, celebrities or pop culture moments. It’s also about the choice of music and how it can profoundly affect the way we perceive clothing. Runway music is an art in itself and is often selected by the designer to convey an overall message along with the collection. Could it be sentimental? Horror style? Or something completely different? Whatever it is, if the images don’t remind you, at least the music will. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite runway soundtrack picks below.

Prada

Our picks:
The ghost rider by suicide
Virgin Prunes Reflection Theme

Prada continues to grace its shows with apocalyptic-themed songs that give its models a little pep in their step. ghost rider by Suicide is one of the many songs by the band that have walked the Prada catwalk, such as United States rocket.

Ralph Lauren Purple Label and Polo Ralph Lauren

Our choice:
One More Night by Michael Kiwanuka

Ralph Lauren’s FW26 show featured an American-inspired soundtrack that accompanied the looks, sonically reflecting Ralph Lauren’s legacy.

Louis Vuitton

Our picks:
Disturbing the Peace by A$AP Rocky (with Pharrell Williams)
Sex God by Jackson Wang

Louis Vuitton by Pharrell Williams is not only at the forefront of fashion but also music. Every song that hits the runway is always backed by an A-list star and met with great anticipation and expectations. A feast for the eyes and ears.

dior

Our picks:
Alesis by Mk.gee
ROCKMAN by Mk.gee

Jonathan Anderson’s sophomore show for Dior was heavily inspired by singer-songwriter Mk.gee. The show opened and closed with their song, alesis.

Chanel Haute Couture

Our choice:
Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve

bittersweet symphony soundtracks the final moments of Matthieu Blazy’s first couture show for Chanel, marking a sentimental milestone in his tenure at the house.

Dior Haute Couture

Our picks:
Tear from massive attack
Portishead Glory Box

Underground music collides with haute couture spectacle. Trip-Hop legends Massive Attack and Portishead make up Jonathan Anderson’s debut couture show at Dior, which is almost reminiscent of Raf Simons’ first show with Aphex Twin scoring the models walking the runway.

jacquemus

Our choice:
Love to love you baby by Donna Summer

A 10 minute version of Donna Summer’s I love loving you baby plays throughout Jacquemus’s show. It is addictive, sensual and also fascinating.

Willy Chavarria

Our choice:
INTERLUDE by Feid

Willy Chavarría’s FW26 runway was beyond spectacle. INTERLUDE by Feid is one of the tracks that calms the energy of the show after bursts of high-octane moments.
