Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, and ITD Executive Director Suphakit Charoenkul signed the agreement in Bangkok.
Their shared activities will involve the organization of research programmes, seminars, workshops and training sessions, as well as the exchange of academic and policy knowledge.
The International Institute for Trade and Development of Thailand and the Foreign Trade Institute of Bangladesh recently signed an MoU to strengthen cooperation in trade and development and collaborate in education, research, training, human resource development and policy analysis. Their shared activities will involve the organization of research programmes, seminars, workshops and training sessions.
Kazi hoped the MoU would help expedite the joint feasibility study for the proposed free trade agreement between Bangladesh and Thailand. He also proposed organizing a review seminar involving business representatives and relevant stakeholders.
Charoenkul emphasized that both sides will work together to ensure that trade remains a major driving force for sustainable and inclusive development, Bangladeshi media reported.
