The reason many people struggle with interpreting charts is that a key distinction was never made – and everything built on it it gets a little blurry.
Instead of being clearly separated, Signs and houses are treated as the same thing.: Aries as the first house, Taurus as the second house, and so on.
And this is not correct.
If the signs and houses were interchangeable, then Venus in Leo in the 3rd house would have the same meaning as Venus in Gemini in the 5th house.
But does it do it?
When signs and houses merge into one, the interpretation begins to falter.
We can know what Venus means. We can know what Leo means. We can know what the 3rd house means.
AND still Misinterpret Venus in Leo in the 3rd house, because the interpretive layers are mixed and the signs and houses begin to serve double duty.
That’s how we end up saying things like “Cancer has to do with home” either “Libra equals relationships” -when actually signs never describe specific areas of life. Those are domestic themes smuggled into sign language.
And it is precisely this distinction that makes the difference between a graphic that seems generic and one that truly describes someone’s unique lived experience.
