On November 3, 2025, a Shah Rukh Khan fan page used their X account (formerly Twitter) to share a video of SRK’s fan meet in Mumbai. For those who don’t know, hours after the title reveal, the Dunki The actor had attended a fan meeting, where he spoke about his character in the film. King. While talking about the roles he has played in his career, Shah Rukh Khan was quoted as saying:
“This distinction has been created by people: hero, villain. Early in my career, I did ‘Darr’, who by today’s standards could be considered a villain or a stalker. And I was in ‘Don’, I was in ‘Anjaam’, I was in ‘Baazigar’; I played the ‘bad’ guy. I feel like if we don’t do something interesting in a film, then the hero just comes in, sings two songs, fights and leaves.”
Shah Rukh Khan then went on to talk about his character in King. He revealed that he plays the role of a murderer in the film and that his character has been written with a lot of love by Siddharth and Sujoy Ghosh. He shared:
“King’s character is very interesting. Siddharth and Sujoy Ghosh have written him with a lot of love. And he has a lot of evil. He is a killer. He kills people. But to tell stories, it is very important that heroes like me play different roles: some inspiring, some comic, some romantic. So that is what I am trying to do now. I will make a big, good film in 1-2 years. Because I also know that making films has become very difficult. Now, films must done carefully so as not to disappoint people.
Shah Rukh Khan plays a dark and ruthless character in King
During the same fan meet held in Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan continued giving details about his mysterious character in King. He said that his character is a dark and gray character, who is very ruthless. He also explained that while he hopes people like it, he doesn’t want anyone to do what that character will do in the movie. In his words:
“So I don’t want to say whether he’s a villain or not. Yes, he’s a very dark character, a gray character. And I think he’ll be very interesting. He’s very ruthless. All the lines in him (title reveal video), more or less, reflect that character. So I hope you like him. That doesn’t mean that what he’s doing is something you should do too.”
