On March 28, 2026, Saturn in Aries is sextile Pluto in Aquarius. Saturn is 5° from Aries and Pluto is 5° from Aquarius.
Aspects between slow-moving planets like Saturn and Pluto are always important because they shape the general direction in which things move.
are these Great underlying influences that affect each and every one of us.whether we are aware of them or not.
When we think about Saturn and Pluto, we typically boil them down to generic keywords like discipline and systems (Saturn) or long-term transformation (Pluto).
All of which is correct, but if we want to understand what is really being set in motion, we must Dig down another layer and look at the larger story unfolding..
The longest Saturn-Pluto cycle: 2020-2033
This sextile is the first aspect in the current Saturn-Pluto Cycle that started in January 2020.
Yeah, that Conjunction that astrologers had been warning about for years, and which we now associate with Covid and all the chaos that followed.
That conjunction was in Capricorna sign associated with institutions, structures and authority.
When Saturn conjunct Pluto, institutions tightened. Systems became more rigid. Structures were reinforced. These were all very literal expressions of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn.
But if we focus only on these surface-level manifestations, we miss what Saturn and Pluto really set in motion.
The same forces that triggered the institutional response – the control, the restrictions – ALSO activated something else: The individual assumes responsibility for his or her own life..
The events surrounding the start of this Saturn-Pluto cycle in 2020 made us reevaluate what really matters. Priorities changed. Many of us started working from home. Many of us change careers.
And what initially seemed like a response to the crisis gradually became something more: an opportunity to reorganize our lives in ways more aligned with who we are.
This is also perhaps the first time that people in general began to question “the system” – and seriously consider what it would mean to get out of it.
And of course, another major transit following Saturn-Pluto played a big role in this shift: the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction at 0° Aquarius in late 2020.
However, Saturn-Pluto itself set in motion a new cycle of authority, beginning a 33-year cycle that fundamentally reshapes how power, control, and responsibility are structured.
What is important to keep in mind with conjunctions is that they are the “zero point“, the planting of the cycle. This is when you plant something new, but we don’t yet see what it will grow into. That takes time.
What really develops – what grows from that seed – is only revealed in the later phases of the cycle, when the two planets begin to interact through aspects: first the sextile, then the square, then the opposition, and so on.
Saturn and Pluto – System Reconfiguration
He Sextile Saturn-Pluto this month is First real aspect after the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 2020.
Saturn It represents the systems under which our world operates: from books and online directories (systems that store information), to roads, infrastructure, the way we structure our time and how we execute our work.
Saturn is how the 3D world we live in is organized and operates.
PlutoAs the outermost planet in our solar system, it represents the beginning of transformation.
Whenever a Saturn 3D system reaches a point where it is no longer productive, becomes obsolete, or begins to fail, Pluto – this “invisible hand” – steps in to make the necessary adjustments.
So when this The Saturn-Pluto cycle began in 2020initiated a new way of organizing reality, rooted in the social changes that developed at that time.
Many focused on the restrictive side of Saturn: control, institutionalization, top-down decision making. But this overlooks the role Pluto played in the background.
Saturn conjunct Pluto does not mean more control. means a systems reconfiguration.
In a conjunction, the energies merge.
So the more Saturn tries to tighten the rules …
… the more Pluto intensifies its response and tests the system.
Counterintuitively, what is used to control and adjust things further has the opposite effect.
It is a law of nature: when a system feels threatened, it reinforces its control. The impulse is to become even more controlling, even more rigid.
Saturn and Pluto: When control becomes the breaking point
But then something changes.
The mere attempt to impose control begins to raise questions..
“Wait a minute… something doesn’t add up.” “Why go so far?” “What is really going on here?”
A feeling of distrust arises naturally when something is pressed too hard, when the need to control becomes too visible.
The more we try to convince, the harder it is to believe the message.
People just stop believing it.
Sometimes there is a clear turning point, but in most cases (and as we have seen throughout the cycles) these changes occur gradually. Cycles don’t collapse overnight; they arise naturally from what no longer resonates.
Saturn Sextile Pluto – The Silent Exit
People stop participating.. They disengage. They stay away of a narrative that no longer convinces, of something that has lost its appeal.
This has already been happening in recent years in many areas.
Carry media and communication. Before the rise of the Internet and alternative media, most people relied on a limited number of “sources of truth”: institutionalized, centralized, and easy to control.
Slowly but surely, these traditional channels began to lose their legitimacy.
At the same time, alternative media began to offer more options.. Forums. Comment sections that, even when moderated, still allow different perspectives to filter through. Podcasts. Private channels.
was the growing dissatisfaction with how old created the space – and the demand – for these new forms to emerge.
These events developed in parallel.
First, a small number of people went offline, while the first alternative media platforms became available and began to gain traction.
Then more and more people went offline. Fewer and fewer people watched television and traditional media, and more and more people turned to podcasts or private channels.
It didn’t happen in a big moment where people said, “I quit.” They simply changed their attention.
When we stop participating in a system that is no longer compelling, alternatives naturally emerge and grow.
And this is what the sextile is all about: the first opening in which something new can begin to take shape alongside what is no longer working..
Saturn Sextile Pluto: When Options Start to Appear
In it The hero’s journeyhe sextile is the first important aspect after the conjunction – the moment when the Hero, once embarked on the journey, begins to receive help.
A mentor appears. A pet. A clue. Something that could easily be overlooked, but is essential.
Nothing dramatic happens with the sextile. But this is when the options start to appear.
And while we may not always recognize their relevance, paying attention (engaging with the archetypal energy of the ‘third house’ sextile) allows us to notice them.
The principle is simple and it is something that people of all times and cultures have recognized: when we commit to a new path, support starts to appear.
Not all at once, not in an obvious way, but through small openings, signs and opportunities that invite us to move forward.
Saturn in Aries Sextile Pluto in Aquarius
So how could this work with Saturn in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius?
First of all, Saturn in Aries puts the responsibility back on the individual. With Saturn in Aries, authority is no longer something we can look up to. WE are the authority.
And while the idea that there is no one out there who can save us may seem daunting at first, it is also very liberating. If there’s no one out there, it means it’s up to us. And this is something we CAN control.
Pluto in AquariusOn the other hand, it speaks of transformation at the systems level: decentralizing concentrated power structures and redistributing power through networks.
In 2024, Pluto left Capricorn and entered Aquarius. think about Capricorn as a main artery: centralized, structured, controlled. AND Aquarium like the network of smaller vessels, which distribute resources, information and energy in all directions.
The Water Bearer (Aquarius) takes what the Sea Goat (Capricorn) has concentrated on the mountaintop and pours it back into the system.
And this is exactly what is starting to happen now that the Aries-Aquarius energies are activating.
With Saturn sextile Pluto in Aries-Aquarius, people come together in new ways, finding alternative ways to connect, collaborate, and build.
Parallel systems begin to form, systems that allow for a more distributed and sustainable way of organizing reality.
As intense as reality may seem right now, there are clear signs that the systems and structures we have relied on are about to collapse.
The new is already emerging and we are in that intermediate phase where there is more chaos, more uncertainty, but also the greatest opportunity.
With every choice we make (the food we buy, the type of content we consume, where we spend our money), we reinforce old structures OR help create something new.
The Saturn-Pluto sextile is about recognizing that in every crisis, opportunities inevitably arise – by design.
What changes things is what we choose to engage with.
The old only disappears when we stop feeding it. And the new takes shape every time we choose it.
