Samsung, with some of its latest updates, is set to remove some core tools from the Android recovery menu, and it’s not clear why.

Every Android smartphone comes with a recovery menu that includes the ability to reset the device, wipe cache, apply updates, and more. That’s a very simplified explanation, but it’s a standard feature, and one you may be more familiar with when manually downloading Android updates, like the beta updates Google releases for Pixels.

However, in One UI 8.5, Samsung is making a change to this.

So why is this happening?
