If you all have read my posts about my vacation in Mauritius, then you will love this post as I share in detail my experience of staying at the Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette. It was my first holiday abroad with my husband so we were looking for a property that not only had the best amenities but also a picturesque view as Mauritius has beautiful beaches and lagoons.
So while making our reservations, we came across this lagoon-front Radisson Blu resort located on Poste Lafayette, about an hour’s drive from the airport. They also have another family resort in the town of Azuri that is equally beautiful, but we chose Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette for its picturesque location and because it was an intimate, adults-only space (not that I don’t like kids, but we wanted a relaxing vacation without having to be around kids running amok and driving everyone crazy).
After all, if you’re looking for the perfect vacation, you want not only a beautiful location, but also excellent amenities, courteous staff, spacious rooms, and sumptuous dining options.
All this and more the Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette was able to offer. Check out my detailed review of the hotel below:
Location –
Getting to the resort is not very difficult as you can easily take a taxi from the airport and reach the resort, while enjoying the amazing view along the way which definitely did not make us regret an hour long drive. The resort is located just off the main coastal road of Poste Lafayette, a quiet village in the northeast of Mauritius and offers easy access to almost all tourist spots on this small island.
While you have a private beach to relax and sunbathe at the resort, public beaches are also just minutes from the property.
The resort is also closer to its sister property, the Radisson Blu Azuri, which is just a 10-minute drive from here, and the best part is that you also get free access to the pool, restaurants, and beach activities at the Azuri property during your stay here; You just have to inform the hotel staff a day in advance and you will get a shuttle that will take you to the family resort that has a larger lagoon.
Accommodation –
As we had made our reservations through a travel portal, our package included a superior room; but we got an upgrade to a spacious, beautifully decorated room with an ocean view, which was exactly what I wanted for a romantic vacation. The rooms were spacious and modern in design with a crisp white and blue theme, with all the amenities like minibar, flat-screen TV, free WiFi, tea and coffee making facilities, electronic safe, rain showers and more. The sea view room also had individual air conditioners.
The only thing I really wished the room had was a bathtub; Considering that it is an adults-only space and is aimed at couples, I think they should have included bathtubs in the rooms as well.
However, the panoramic ocean view and Juliette balcony made up for the lack of a bathtub. And also, since the beach area was just a few steps from our room, we spent a lot of time on the beach loungers.
Activities –
Now, here comes the best part of our stay at the Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette: the Blu Passport, which gives guests access to free activities when they stay at any of the Radisson Blu resorts. While the beach activities at the Poste Lafayette resort were limited to free kayaks, pedal boats, snorkel gear, and glass-bottom boat rides, access to numerous beach activities at the Azuri resort made up for it.
We spent a day at the Radisson Blu Azuri resort, sipping amazing cocktails by the pool and making the most of our free access to beach activities like snorkeling and pedal boating.

There were also many other in-house activities organized at the resort daily (reception provides a full list of planned activities for the week), such as cocktail tastings, bike tours, water exercises, cooking sessions and more, which kept us busy when we weren’t lounging on the beach or sightseeing.
Food –
The complex has three restaurants and a bar.
Nautilus Coffee is their all-day restaurant, located next to the pool, offering an incredible buffet with local and international dishes. As the hotel had many Indian guests during our visit, the buffet also included some Indian dishes for those who are strictly vegetarian or prefer to eat Indian food; but we savored their local favorites which were sumptuous.

Phi Restaurant It is located next to Café Nautilus and serves à la carte dining in Mauritius. However, we couldn’t try it as we spent most of the nights at the Aqua Beach restaurant.

Located next to the beach, the Aquatic Beach The bar and restaurant were our favorites of the three dining options available, not only because of the beach view, but also because they offered amazing cocktails and delicious pizza and seafood dishes. There were also special performances such as live music and Sega shows that were held at the bar in the evening.
A special thanks to Mr. Sunil from the F&B team, who helped us make the most of our dining experience by suggesting local favorites and drinks that would pair best with the dishes.
Other features –
In addition to the modern rooms and beach amenities, the resort also has a swimming pool (which is heated in the winter months) surrounded by a spacious terrace with sun loungers and fabric umbrellas for relaxing.
There is a free gym which is small but has all the modern gym equipment if you fancy taking a break from all the dining and sunbathing to exercise.
The spa is one of the highlights of the property and offers more than a dozen types of massages and Ayurvedic treatments to help you rejuvenate during your vacation. It has three couples treatment rooms and five treatment rooms; and a luxurious wellness area with coastal views.
I had a relaxing head and foot massage just before my vacation ended and it was a perfect ending.
to my incredible stay at this property.
Staff –
While the hotel’s amenities and surroundings aren’t the only thing that makes your stay enjoyable, there are also small details that make the experience even better.
The staff was very courteous and helpful. In fact, on the second day of my stay during our sightseeing tour, I realized that I had left a valuable item in the room, but I called the hotel staff and they duly informed me that I will find it right where I had left it when I return; self-confidence improved my mood; Otherwise, I know I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy my day worrying about whether I’ll find him when I get back.
There were several other things I loved, such as the kind notes from housekeeping, a cocktail evening with management where we were able to learn more about the staff, help staff who guided us through things to do on the beach and near the property or encouraged us to try different cuisines during our stay, to the little departure gifts we received, which made our entire experience memorable and fun.
