Princess of Wales steps out in smart gray suit for RAF visit to Coningsby

Kate Middleton visited RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire on Thursday, wearing an elegant tailored trouser suit with a tonal fabric underneath.

The Princess of Wales toured the station, meeting staff and learning more about their work.

During the visit he saw the station’s Typhoon Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) aircraft, which provides 24-hour protection for UK airspace and responds to potential threats or unidentified aircraft alongside RAF Lossiemouth.

He also toured the newly opened Typhoon Future synthetic training center, which offers state-of-the-art training environments for pilots.

He met members of the welfare team, who support the wellbeing of RAF personnel and their families.

The Princess also spent time with junior-ranking airmen, learning about their roles and day-to-day experiences on the ground.

Finally, he also spent time with the families of service personnel and listened to their experiences.

RAF Coningsby is one of the UK’s largest air force bases, home to the Typhoon force and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, which preserves historic aircraft and pays tribute to those who fought in the Second World War.

This was the Princess’s maiden trip to the base since she was appointed to the position of Honorary Royal Air Commodore in August 2023, a position previously held by Prince William.

William had served as Coningsby’s honorary air commodore for over a decade before passing patronage to his wife.

Kate’s outfit

For the visit, the princess wore a tailored gray pantsuit, paired with a matching gray knit underneath.

The stylish two-piece ensemble featured a fitted single-breasted jacket and slim-fit pants.

She finished the look with a slim navy blue leather belt and pointy suede heels.

She had her hair tied up halfway.
