Siblings Jack, 4, and Lilly, 6, disappeared from their family home without a trace and, more than six months later, the worrying search continues as their mother delivers a heartbreaking message.
It’s been six months since siblings Jack, 4, and Lilly Sullivan, 6, mysteriously disappeared from their bedroom and still haven’t been found.
Jack and Lilly went missing from their rural home in Lansdowne Station, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, on May 2, 2025. Their mother, Malehya Brooks-Murray, reported her two young children missing after believing they had wandered away from the family home, where they lived with their mother, stepfather, Daniel Martell, and younger sister, Meadow.
Their mother reportedly heard the two children playing in the next room of their house around 10 a.m., but when she later checked on them, they had disappeared. It is believed that they left through the patio door.

An intensive search for the missing Canadian children was launched and interviews were conducted. A local resident, Brad Wong, reported hearing a “loud vehicle” driving near the house in the early hours of May 2.
In court documents, RCMP Corporal Charlene Curl wrote that Wong “said his residence is elevated from Daniel’s.” [Martell] residence and could see the lights of the vehicles over the tops of the trees.
He also stated: “He said the vehicle left three or four times after midnight and into the early hours of the morning. He said the vehicle was going off into the distance and he could hear it stop and then return. He said it stayed within earshot the entire time,” reports The sun.
Another neighbor, Justin Smith, also told police he heard a vehicle circling along the train tracks near the family’s home around 1:30 a.m. “[Smith] He later spoke with Brad Wong, who informed him that Daniel’s vehicle came and went five or six times that night. “Wong said the car Smith heard was Daniel’s,” the officer said.
Daniel reported to police that he had gone to bed “pretty early” and didn’t wake up until the next morning. He also told police that no one had left the family home and that they had no visitors that mysterious day.
Meanwhile, the children’s mother, Malehya, allegedly told investigators that her partner said he stayed up to clean, but she wasn’t sure what, since “it wasn’t clean when she got up.”
Despite best efforts, the two young children have not yet been found.
Six months since she last saw her children, Malehya wrote a heartbreaking post on Facebook. It said: “As a mother, I love my children more than life itself and I feel so devastated not being able to hug my two children, Lilly and Jack.
“The longing I have for them to come home to me is a feeling greater than I could ever imagine. Not a day, minute or second goes by that I’m not thinking about my children.”
While several theories about their disappearance have circulated online, it is still believed that they left their home together. Sergeant Rob McCamon said the case remains a missing persons investigation and there is no evidence of criminal activity at this time.
The search continues and an intensive operation is planned for November 15 in an attempt to find Jack and Lilly, especially as temperatures drop. Volunteers will join the search, as provided by the Canadian organization Please Bring Me Home.
While the organization does not typically help with missing persons cases, chief executive Nick Oldrieve said they were eager to help. he said Daily Mail: “We feel like there’s something we can do to help, and it’s probably the last ditch effort for these kids before the snow hits.
“As fellow Canadians and as a group that conducts searches for missing persons, we offer our group to come and help. We have been on searches before and have been successful.”
