Provocateur and Rep. Lauren Boebert sparked a firestorm over the weekend.
She and her boyfriend, Kyle Pearcy, came in a hideous couple’s costume.
Boebert could have gone for something funny or harmless. Beeltejuice could have worked.
Instead, her boyfriend dressed as an ICE agent. And Boebert’s costume was nothing but racism.
What racist costume did Lauren Boebert wear for Halloween?
On Friday, October 31, Rep. Lauren Boebert and her boyfriend Kyle Pearcy attended a Halloween party in Loveland, Colorado.
The holidays are a chance for government officials (even the worst of the worst) to show the world that, after all, they are human beings who want to live their lives and have fun.
Boebert took a different approach.
Her boyfriend was wearing military-style gear, including camouflage, with an ICE vest over his uniform. Given that ICE agents are currently terrorizing American communities across the country, this is abhorrent but not surprising.
Boebert was wearing a shockingly racist costume, portraying what appears to be a woman of Mexican descent residing in the United States.

As you can see, Boebert is wearing a traditional Mexican dress.
She also wears a hat.
On its own, this could be a racist caricature, but it is not explicitly or blatantly racist. But then there is the most important detail.
He carries a board with the words: “Mexican word of the day: JUICY. Tell me if Juicy Ice is coming.”
That nonsensical line seems to be Boebert making fun of anyone who can pronounce “you see” as “juicy.” (We personally wouldn’t associate that pronunciation with Mexican-Americans, but that’s beside the point.)
This goes beyond the erosion of political norms.
Blatant racism like this would have been a huge scandal from a member of Congress just a decade ago.
Make no mistake: there were and always have been proud racists within the United States government. But in the decades before Trump took office, most avoided “saying the quiet part out loud.”
Reports say that one of the reasons why Majorie Taylor Greene doesn’t like Lauren Boebert it’s that the latter is simply too racist for her.
That’s saying a lot, coming from a Trump supporter who made headlines with her conspiracy theory about “Jewish space lasers.”
But watching Boebert mock the terror afflicting millions of Americans at this very moment while simultaneously portraying a cruel caricature of the entire Latino community… this isn’t just a further erosion of norms. This is devil.

Boebert (who turns out to be only 38 years old) was reportedly not completely among friends at the party.
Obviously, the others at the gathering were the type of people who would either invite someone like her to a party or not leave when they realized she was there.
But even they shied away Boebert’s racist Halloween costumeABC News reports.
“It’s the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Even conservatives [at the party] They were shocked. People avoided them,” described one attendee.
To be frank, it takes a lot to surprise people in 2025. Most of us are more surprised by rare good news than by once-unthinkable horrors or inventive new displays of bigotry.
She didn’t apologize (of course)
As you may have guessed, Lauren Boebert has no interest in apologizing or working on becoming a decent person.
“It’s a Halloween costume,” his office argued in a statement.
“Tell our senators to vote for CR and open the government,” Boebert’s office said. “They are choosing to let millions of American families suffer.”
That’s not really true, as Trump and his Republican cronies are trying to hold SNAP recipients and remaining government workers hostage to wrest health care subsidies from all Americans.
But that’s no surprise to a woman willing to sink to new, horrifying depths of depravity at every turn.
