TOAs Arizona prepares to play in its fifth Final Four of all time on Saturday, we’ve compiled a list of all the West schools’ appearances.
The region has 19 Final Four teams, 12 of which have made two or more appearances, led by UCLA with 19, Arizona with five and Utah and UNLV with four each.
But before we get to the list, for those who may be interested, a little history.
The NCAA recognizes Final Four appearances since the first tournament in 1939, although only eight teams participated in the tournament between 1939 and 1950.
Between 1939 and 1950, there were only eight teams in the tournament, so half of the teams can claim a Final Four appearance.
However, since 1985, everyone must play at least three games to reach the Final Four.
