Full moon in Aries: take action and return to your usual rhythms

Today brings a Full Moon at 14 Aries. It is the first regular lunation since last month’s eclipses.

For me, this marks my return to my more regular schedule after two weeks of traveling and spending time with family.

As I sit at my desk today, Monday, catching up on emails, along with work and life in general, I reflect on how each lunation (new moon or full moon) expresses a quality of energy that flavors the next two weeks.

The last two weeks had that ‘out of the ordinary’ Feel it, which is so common with eclipses, as the time period from September 21 to October 5 was infused with that solar eclipse in Virgo energy.

Being out of your routine or usual rhythms does not have to be negative or for bad reasons. It can be, but it can also be for fun or for pleasant reasons.

Adventures and family time

Peter and I went away for a few days to visit Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise. I have wanted to visit these spectacular places for years and was excited to finally be able to experience the majesty of these mountains and lakes in person. Check out some photos on my Instagram here.

We then spent a couple of days at home doing some work, doing laundry etc, and then welcomed my parents for a week-long visit, which included exploring the Tobermory Peninsula (absolutely stunning!) and enjoying life at home with family and friends.

It was a true joy to share more of my life in Canada with Mom and Dad. The last two weeks were full of fun, atypical experiences and I loved everything.

Monday morning yoga and adaptation to the familiar

Today I started by returning to one of my regular yoga classes, a gentle stretching and restorative class with Maple in go to yoga. (I’ve always loved the idea of starting the work week with a stretch and the opportunity to reconnect with my body.)

Afterwards, I told Peter, this is like getting back into a more regular routine, since I attend this class several times a month and have for years.

And while there’s a lot to say about today’s Full Moon in Aries, I wanted to start with this simple point: As it’s the first regular lunation after the recent eclipse season, it marks a time to settle into more familiar rhythms and routines.

I’ve had a great time being shaken and moved by a variety of fun activities and experiences over the past two weeks, which is very common during eclipse season, and I’m also ready to settle into more familiar patterns and rituals. What about you?
