This month, I’ve been seeing cool braids all over Brooklyn. Here’s my friend Alison with a double braid ponytail at our neighborhood coffee shop. “It took two seconds, cost nothing, and got a lot of praise,” he told me. So elegant and easy!
Would you (or would you)? burp your house? Basically, it’s a German approach called lüften where you open all the windows every day to ventilate your rooms, regardless of the weather. My English father does the same and Angelina told him about raising her children in Sweden: “Even in the dead of winter, many Swedish parents take their children, bundled up in their strollers, to take a nap outside… If you are sick, your doctor will tell you, open the window.”
Last night I went to see the new Guggenheim showand, with 12-year-old Anton as my stylist, I decided to wear a black lace top with red lipstick. here is the shirt I’m wearing, in addition to three more beautiful ones: gathered, neckand short sleeve. (Hello to the cute Anton playing the drum in the back of these photos!)
Now that I’m the head chef (laughs) of our small team, I’m always looking for easy recipes that still have a lot of flavor. I found myself French cuisine for two by Michèle Roberts at a local bookstore, and we’ve been trying her incredibly simple dishes, like chickpeas with spinach; lentil soup; and baked pears. It also offers cultural curiosities; For example, in a recipe for scrambled eggs with mushrooms, he notes: “In France, you wouldn’t be offered this for breakfast but for dinner.”
What have you been up to lately? What flashes are you noticing? I’d love to hear. xoxo
PS: More fun stuff. What fun books have you enjoyed lately?
