A POPULAR fitness influencer and local politician was found dead in her home in Brazil.
Fernanda Oliveira da Silva, better known on the Internet as Fernanda Maroca, was found dead by relatives on Thursday at her property in Lago Verde, near São Luís.
Emergency services attended the scene but could only confirm his tragic death.
The 30-year-old was a well-known content creator and shared cosmetics reviews and fitness tips with thousands of followers.
But she was also a rising political figure, having served as councilor and twice as president of the Lago Verde Municipal Council.
Fernanda was a member of Brazil’s center-right Progressives party and had first been elected in 2020.

He led the council from 2021 to 2022 and again from 2022 to 2024, and was serving his second term at the time of his death.
City officials have declared three days of mourning in his honor.
A council spokesperson said: “Lago Verde City Council expresses its deepest condolences on the death of councilor Fernanda Maroca, which occurred on Thursday.
“A prominent and respected figure in our community, Fernanda dedicated her life to public service, serving her second term as a councilor where she was also president of the Municipal Council for two terms, always with commitment and love for Lago Verde.
“In recognition of his political career and contributions to the municipality, we decree an official three-day mourning throughout the entire territory of Lago Verde.”
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of his sudden death.
In her latest Instagram post on October 12, Fernanda appeared reflective as she posed next to a lake, said to be one of her favorite childhood spots.
She wrote: “Grandpa and Grandma talk and we run around.”
Tributes have since poured in online.
One follower said: “I am shocked by this news, I followed her on Instagram for a long time and now that I saw this news, I feel like a hole has opened under my feet.”
Another added: “The death of such a young and hard-working person is very sad, may God comfort all his family and friends.”
A third wrote: “How sad for such a young and beautiful woman with so much future ahead of her.
“May God take care of his soul.”
It comes after Brazilian singer Vanessa Ríos died aged 42 after a brave fight against cancer.
The star died Saturday night in a private hospital in Recife, where he was receiving treatment for a rare and aggressive form of lung cancer.
He leaves behind his 16-year-old daughter who was his pride and joy.
