Jupiter is the big dog in the sky that everyone loves and is very powerful as it prepares to go direct on March 10, 2026, after its long retrograde period since last November. It will remain in Gemini until June 1, when it enters Cancer, and that next entry into its sign of exaltation will be one of the most important astrological changes of 2026. But right now, in this stationary window, we have a concentrated and powerful burst of Jupiterian energy that deserves our full attention.

Stations of Jupiter in Purnavasu nakshatra, which extends from 20° Gemini to 3°20′ Cancer. This is a nakshatra that I hold close to my heart: I was born with a stationary Jupiter in Purnavasu in Gemini, sitting in the first house of my Karakamsha Rashi chart, the Jaimini life purpose chart. I attribute much of my love of teaching and writing to this placement, and I observe each station of Jupiter in Gemini with genuine personal interest. Purnavasu means “the good abode again”; carries the quality of restoration, return and renewal. Its presiding deity is Aditi, the limitless mother of the gods, whose essence is inexhaustible nourishment and grace.

Jupiter is very powerful in the sky 5 days before and 5 days after his station, so approximately between March 5 and 15 we find ourselves in a particularly strong window of expansion, wisdom and good luck. Thursday, a day ruled by Jupiter, will be especially powerful during this period. Pay close attention to what opens up for you this week.

The deeper meaning of Jupiter’s stay in Purnavasu is revealed through the central themes of the nakshatra. As I often teach, Purnavasu is the star of restoration: it asks us to consider what needs renewal in our lives, what resources or relationships might return after a period of absence, and what abundance is ready to flow again. Jupiter here is extraordinarily comfortable: Jupiter is the natural lord of Purnavasu, and when a planet transits its own nakshatra, it functions at full power. This is Jupiter at his most benevolent and wise.

Jupiter will enter Cancer on June 1, crossing into its sign of exaltation, where it will be close to 5 degrees of Cancer, its exact point of greatest strength. That upcoming transition is something we can all look forward to. But before that gift arrives, let’s receive what Jupiter in Gemini still has to offer: its gifts of communication, learning, curiosity, writing, commerce, and the ability to connect ideas and people across distances.

When the seasons of Jupiter turn, the advancing benefic planets again increase their power to do good. Retrograde benefics are inward; Direct benefics extend their grace to the world. This season marks a significant shift: the flow of Jupiter’s blessings, which may have felt more inward or delayed during the retrograde period, now begins to move forward again with renewed momentum.

From a financial astrology perspective, Jupiter stationary direct may indicate an uptick in marketing momentum and business expansion after months of sluggishness. If you’ve been putting off launching something, unveiling a new offering, or making a bold business move, the weeks after March 10 (particularly before June 1) are among the best windows in 2026 to act. Marketing tends to respond best to Jupiter direct. Expansion efforts that seemed stalled may begin to move. And given Jupiter’s imminent entry into Cancer at its exaltation point, the second half of 2026 looks considerably more economically optimistic than the first.

If you were born with Jupiter retrograde in your birth chart, this direct station will activate your particular chart. People born with natal Jupiter retrograde will feel a noticeable change, perhaps a sense of returning forward movement, an ability to receive good judgment more easily, or a relaxation of situations that have felt stagnant. Jupiter rules husbands and male figures in relationships, so women in particular may notice changes in their partners or their relationship with male advisors, teachers, or gurus as Jupiter changes direction.

The spiritual dimension of Jupiter in Purnavasu/Gemini reminds us that wisdom must have breadth: it must be able to communicate, connect and share. As Brihaspati, the high priest of the Gods, Jupiter’s purpose is to reveal the Divine Plan and send us on our mission to rediscover our own Divinity. In Gemini and Purnavasu, this mission takes on the quality of the teacher who can accommodate many students and reach many minds, whose grace finds people through words, through learning, through the simple act of one human being sharing something true with another. If you have been called to write, teach, speak, or communicate something you have been putting off, this season is your cue to begin.

Jupiter is connected to the liver, which performs more than 750 major functions in the body. Even with a beneficial season, a very active Jupiter can sometimes overload the liver, especially if you have Jupiter in a difficult placement in your birth chart or have a tendency toward sluggish liver. Drink warm water with freshly squeezed lemon every morning to keep your liver toned. Be careful with heavy, oily or overly rich foods: Jupiter’s expansive energy can sometimes manifest as excess. Jupiter is also connected to the pancreas, so be careful about overindulging in sweets during this powerful window. The spinal twist is an excellent pose to support liver function during strong Jupiter transits. As always, learn these poses from a qualified yoga instructor and don’t strain yourself.

Of course, graphics are very individual and general items that impact people differently. If you are a Sagittarius or Pisces rising, have Jupiter retrograde in your birth chart, or have key planets between 20 and 29 degrees Gemini or 0 and 3 degrees Cancer, you will feel this season more acutely. Those in a mahadasha or Jupiter subperiod will also find this window particularly significant.
