Designing a cardigan – Susan after 60

During my eye doctor appointment, which lasted almost three hours, I took some much-needed quiet time to consider what might be a suitable topic to cover on the blog. Since I was wearing one of my favorite classic pieces, I thought it would be helpful to show you a cardigan styled in different ways.

The navy blue cardigan I wore in all of these pictures is here. I have it in several colors and I use them almost all year round. My reasons for choosing this style over others include the fine gauge cotton blend fabric and the V neckline. I can even wear it under a jacket since it’s not bulky. If you are also busty, I recommend fine knit fabrics. The soft, breathable fabric of the cardigan works great even in hot weather.

The look above is the one I wore to my doctor’s appointment. the shoes are here. The jeans are here. I want to mention that they are small. I bought the long ones because I wanted to wear them with heels or wedges, but the size 28 fits me tighter than other jeans of the same size from the same brand. The fabric is made of 98% Regenagri regenerative cotton and 2% elastane-spandex, which means that it does not maintain its structure like normal 98% cotton jeans do.

I have been using them for almost a decade and will continue to do so. The fabric is soft, but allows other fabrics to flow smoothly over it without dragging or sticking. I enjoy adding a pop of red or tan to give some depth to my neutral combinations. Sam Edelman’s red bag is a few years old, but I bought it. here. It’s a crossbody style bag, but I put the chain inside to use it as a clutch. The belt is also old, but I bought it. here.

My eyes were still fully dilated, so it was much more comfortable with sunglasses on. I’ve worn sweaters tied around my neck since I was a teenager. It’s a stylish way to have an extra layer on hand when needed. Add some pizzazz to your look as a bonus!

It is necessary to wear a cardigan over my shoulders when I enter air-conditioned spaces while wearing a summer dress. When I go on vacation or spend a summer afternoon outdoors, I always carry a case with me. The lightweight cardigan is one that I have worn on many vacations and was always glad to have it.


I also enjoy wearing this partially buttoned cardigan as a top with jeans.
