Clothing exports amounted to US$8.63 billion, textiles to US$505 million, footwear to US$1.54 billion and exports of travel goods and bags to US$1.53 billion.
Cambodian exports of textiles, footwear, travel goods and bags were worth around $12 billion in the first nine months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 16.6 percent. Clothing exports amounted to US$8.63 billion, textiles to US$505 million, footwear to US$1.54 billion and exports of travel goods and bags to US$1.53 billion. ASEAN was the largest market, with exports to the bloc rising 33 percent year-on-year.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was the largest market for these products during the period, with exports to the bloc increasing 33 percent year-on-year.
During the nine-month period, exports of such items to the United States and China increased by 26 percent and 13.7 percent year-on-year, respectively. Those exports to the European Union represented 12 percent of total exports. Shipments to Japan rose about 10 percent year-on-year and to the United Kingdom rose 4.4 percent year-on-year during the period.
Imports of raw materials for garment production reached around $4.4 billion during the period, a year-on-year increase of 6.4 percent, according to domestic media reports.
