Tammy Carvey’s US$ 100 million (R$ 540 million) Powerball prize is attracting attention — not with value, but with method rather than victory.
Carvey, 45, of Wyandotte, Michigan, USA, said she used ChatGPT to generate her numbers for the Powerball drawing on September 6. Your winning ticket included four white Powerball balls, which yielded a prize of US$50,000, doubled by US$100,000 thanks to the Power Play resource, second to the Michigan Lottery.
“I asked ChatGPT for a set of Powerball numbers, and foram those numbers that I played not my bilhete,” says Carvey.
After asking for numbers on ChatGPT, Carvey entered the Powerball system and later discovered he had won.
“I only noticed that the Power Play had been added to the ticket when I entered the minute I counted from the Michigan Lottery — and that’s when I saw that I had actually won US$100,000!” he continues. “My husband and we were in total disbelief.”
Carvey is a recent lottery winner who claims to have used ChatGPT to win a prize. In September, Carrie Edwards from Virginia won $150 million and also used the OpenAI chatbot to generate her winning numbers.
The irony of using AI to predict lottery numbers is that the technology no longer plays a legitimate role in this sector. Across the country, lottery authorities are leveraging artificial intelligence to protect systems, detect fraud and ensure player safety.
In addition to words, AI is becoming like run lotteries, not expired ones, and the Michigan Lottery is responding to Powerball results remaining completely random.
Embora Carvey’s victory as ChatGPT has not altered the chances of the game, or it shows how people are finding new ways to integrate into AI activities previously associated only at sorte — or a um pé de coelho.
