Arizona Cardinals @ Dallas Cowboys Preview
The Arizona Cardinals head to Arlington for a Monday Night Football showdown against the Dallas Cowboys, with both sides looking to change the narrative of their seasons.
The 3-4-1 Cowboys look to stabilize their form after a rough stretch, while the 2-5 Cardinals look to arrest their slide and find some momentum in front of a national audience.
Dallas has been one of the most exciting offensive teams in the league, averaging just over 30 points per game.
Dak Prescott has been in good shape, throwing for 2,069 yards and 16 touchdowns with a 70% completion rate. His partnership with George Pickens has been one of the most productive in the league, as the receiver continues to dominate on the outside with 685 yards and six touchdowns.
Running back Javonte Williams also impressed, racking up more than 630 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.
However, the Cowboys’ main problem has been defense, where they have allowed more than 31 points per game, ranking near the bottom of the league. Injuries and inconsistency have left them exposed, and that remains the biggest question mark heading into this contest.
For Arizona, a lot depends on the physical condition of quarterback Kyler Murray. He returned to practice during the week and was able to regain the starting job from Jacoby Brissett. If he starts, his dual-threat ability could provide a major test for a struggling Dallas defense.
Tight end Trey McBride has become the offense’s most reliable target with 47 receptions and four touchdowns, while rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr is still looking for a big game.
The Cardinals have struggled to maintain their running game due to injuries to James Conner and Trey Benson, leaving Bam Knight and Michael Carter to carry the load. Despite its struggles, Arizona’s defense has remained steady, ranking in the top half of the league in points allowed.
