Age of Pisces: divine love and inhuman cruelty – Astroinform with Marjorie Orr

Age of Pisces: divine love and inhuman cruelty – Astroinform with Marjorie Orr

Christianity is the world’s leading religion, closely followed by Islam. Both beliefs came into effect during the 2000 year Age of Pisces. Jesus, whom his followers view as the Son of God who rose from the dead after his crucifixion and was the messiah (Christ) prophesied in the Old Testament. He was supposedly born around the turn of the millennium, and some consider the bright star that guided the sages to his birth to be the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in 7 BC. But there are a legion of different dates suggested for his birth.

What is true of Jesus not only became the figurehead of an enduring religion, but he was also at the time a social activist, which is why the authorities executed him. On December 25, 1 a.m. C., which is a suggested birth date, had a nearby revolutionary Pluto in Virgo opposing Uranus in Pisces square the Capricorn Sun conjunct the North Node. Which makes sense for him as a rebel leader with a strong paternal motive in his life.

The above date selected due to the 7 BC Jupiter Saturn conjunction in Pisces in late February/early March has an opposition of Uranus in Pisces to Pluto as well as the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. But it is all speculation, since there were no written records and it is almost certain that the life of Jesus has been mythologized to fit with previous beliefs.

Islam also emerged from the age of Pisces with the birth of Muhammad in 570 CE, just a decade before the triple conjunction of Saturn-Uranus-Pluto in Pisces square Neptune; and declared himself leader of Islam in 622 CE under the Saturn-Uranus-Neptune conjunction in Virgo.

Carl Jung was fascinated by the symbolism of Pisces, by the Age of Pisces, coinciding with the birth of Christ. He notes that Pisces is mythologically associated with two hostile brothers: Christ and the antichrist, the spirit versus the flesh; The glyph has two fish swimming in opposite directions. Early Gnostic Christians believed that Lucifer (the antichrist) created the body and the material world; and God/Christ created the soul. The journey of life consisted of rescuing the soul from its leaden shelter of flesh.

Pisces represents both the ideal and the shadow, eternally at war, both inextricably linked. The central motif of Christianity is the torture of crucifixion, which is also part of the Pisces story: the dismemberment, the mortification of the flesh. Risking everything for the sake of heavenly redemption, which also fits into Muslim ideology.

When things go wrong and the Pisces/Neptune energy leans too far into the shadows, inhuman cruelty arises. Individuation, Jung believed, was only achieved when both contradictory sides were possessed.

In the age of Aquarius: the great eras explained

Astrology’s perspective on the universe takes into account the fact that our view of the constellations changes as the Earth tilts back infinitely slowly in the heavens. Every 2,000 years or so, the line through the center of the Earth moves to a different sign. Therefore, we are entering the much vaunted Age of Aquarius, one of the great epochs, and leaving the Age of Pisces which began around the time of the birth of Christ. Each of these eras coincides with a different stage in the development of humanity. Although since the constellations have no start or finish line, an exact date cannot be established, at some point in the next century we will leave Pisces to enter Aquarius.

The Age of Leo: 10,000–8000 BC

Leo, symbolized by the Lion, ruled by the Sun, is brave, artistic, family-centered, and radiates warmth. This is the time of hunter-gatherers and the dawn of agriculture, with the cultivation of wild grains. The animals are not yet domesticated, so wild flocks gather to provide them with sustenance and reproduce. It is also the end of the last Ice Age. Cave paintings record early man’s need to create a lasting record of his presence.

The era of Cancer: 8000–6000 BC

Cancer, symbolized by the crab, ruled by the Moon, is oriented to home, family and tribe, and worships the Great Mother and the Moon as providers of fertility. This is the time when communities began to gather in protected settlements, with defensive protection against wild animals. In Jericho people lived in huts made of sun-dried mud, which became a widespread construction method in the Middle East.

The Age of Gemini: 6000–4000 BC

Gemini, symbolized by the twins, ruled by Mercury, is the planet of communication, restless, versatile, wandering. This is the time of the development of written or drawn communication, beginning with cuneiform writing, pictographs and hieroglyphics. Initially devised for trade and barter, and derived from an earlier token system, writing was increasingly used for administration.

The Age of Taurus: 4000-2000 BC

Taurus, symbolized by the bull, the sign of the farmer, coincided with the beginning of sedentary agricultural communities, since nomads formed together in groups to cultivate the land. Taurus is associated with culture, comfort and security. Its Venusian aspects are seen more clearly in the Egyptian civilization, which around 3500 BC. C. flourished in cities along the fertile Nile delta. The large sarcophagi of bulls from ancient Egypt are testimony to the reverence in which this animal was held.

The Age of Aries: 2000 BC-0 AD

Aries, the warrior sign, symbolized by the Ram, associated with iron, coincides in the great eras with the development of metal, which replaced stone and wood implements and was used for agriculture, domestic utensils and weapons. The first European states were settled under the flourishing Minoan culture, then the Greek one. Aries’ entrepreneurial talent was taken advantage of: trade increased dramatically. Sports prowess became the greatest achievement of Greek culture, reflecting Aries’ competitive streak. Bronze technology gave way to iron, with an increase in military activity, which saw the construction of Europe’s enormous defensive fortresses.

The Age of Pisces: 0-2000 AD

An era of artistic and religious inspiration, in which the great messiahs (Christ, Muhammad and Buddha) carried the vision of humanity. Pisces is creative, spiritual, and concerned with individual sacrifice for the common good. Suffering for humanity is one of its features, witnessed in the myth of Christ. The early cults of Jesus had the fish as a secret symbol, and the Christian story of the New Testament is concerned with fishermen and feeding the multitude. Buddhism is the passive facet of Pisces, supportive, opposed to killing, living a good life and aspiring to nirvana, a state of happiness far from earthly suffering. Pisces is connected to realms beyond, so God’s revelations come directly to prophets like Muhammad, who bring them to the people. The darker side of Pisces is orgiastic, devouring, wild, impersonal, inhuman.

The Age of Aquarius: 2000–4000

A crazy time for high technology and computers; The information revolution and genetic engineering are just two of the crazy scientific advances that would have been unthinkable even 100 years ago. However, this is just the beginning, an indicator of what awaits us. Aquarius is the sign of knowledge, scientific advances and discoveries. Man acquires divine powers, manipulating the environment and our species. What it does goes against biology, so old gender-specific categories and cultures will no longer be valid. A world that George Orwell and Aldous Huxley amazingly foresaw.

Aquarius is emotionally detached, more oriented toward friends than family, so the breakdown of old domestic structures (already evident) is part of the picture. Essentially tolerant and humanitarian, Aquarius appreciates individual differences in culture, customs and creeds, which is why some have spoken of a coming golden age. But Aquarius can be uncompromising in their demand for complete freedom without interference. The old social glue no longer works. However, what the myth of Prometheus, often associated with Aquarius, tells us is that playing with the power of the universe carries dangers. There will be a physical price to pay for an excessive emphasis on intellect and scientific supremacy. Emotions and the body, disconnected from their natural roots, can rebel.
